(I'm kind of tired, so this is probably gonna be worded weird)

After reading Aragnya's Tale, and finding that Elidinis has lightning powers, and seeing that she has a bit of a temper, then reading Tumeken and the Wind, I thought that Elidinis may have been the wind, matching the moodiness that the wind apparently had.

I thought it was an interesting theory that gave her more backstory than "She's a blue hippo".

Idk. Leave theories, bash me, and whatever below.

First off -- Aragnya's Tale was fascinating, compliments to the author!

Secondly, perhaps she just has a mixed bag of elements -- water via the River Elid, then there's wind, lightning... could she possibly be generally associated with the natural forces of the world, as the counterpart to Tumeken's sun?

On the other hand: water, wind and lightning. Plus the "raindrops" referenced in the story (obviously her tears, but the wording's likely significant). Perhaps it's a better fit to associate her with storms, yeah. Sun and storm, equal and opposite.

Slightly relevant edit: with Aragnya's Tale seemingly one of the JMod-authored stories of the bunch, perhaps this is a taste of Araxyte lore?

Idk. I read it twice, and I'm still confused by it. Whatever it was, it happened after Guthix banished her (at least that's what I got out of it when she was grieving about being banished because of "what I was, how they saw me".)

She seems similar to Saradomin. In fact, it's possible that they both had a history.

I'm pretty sure they had some kind of makeshift alliance during the Godwars

They did have an alliance, Saradomin and Elidinis, so it's possible she liked Saradominist magic and decided to use some of it - i.e. the Saradomin Strike.
But honestly, imo, I think she was just... using lightning magic. Simple as. Different people prefer different magic, and lightning suited her purposes better than water for scaring the spider person. Doesn't make her the goddess of storms - I imagine any powerful mage with enough interest could pick up a few lightning spells. And a god would have an even easier time, since they have a lot of magical power at their disposal and no need for runes or other spell reagents.
Mods pls notice me

She gives me an elemental vibe. Maybe an ascended water spirit? "Ptolemos, the friendly, informative Mahjarrat."

Yep. We have to remember that the gods' titles like god of balance, order or chaos do not mean that they control those things. Their titles are about their values and philosophies. Itchy's title is about his job and so was ammy's. Sure, she may have been the one to make storms in the menaphite lands, but it is most likely that any other god with the sufficient power and knowledge could do the same.
NO

By your logic, since Zamorak can throw fireballs, Zamorak must be the God of Fire :o

On a side note, I wonder how Elidinis was planning to use Aragyna's Veil? The spider said the veil was capable of creating powerful illusions to anyone that wears it, probably even a Goddess like Elidinis.

Elidinis said she wanted to use the veil to sneak into Gielinor to see her children again, but she cannot because she was banished by Guthix. According to her, Guthix despised her because she was a god. Because of "what he saw when he looked at me," i.e., a tyrannical overpowered being subjugating their will on poor mortals, and I won't disagree with Guthix. Elidinis just exterminated a race of spiders for their beliefs...

But there would still be a barrier around the planet she would have to get pass... And now that that barrier is gone, she still hasn't returned... HMMM....

I got the impression that she'd heard of the veil and wanted to use it to see her children again, living a fantasy where she was still with them, not to sneak into Gielinor or something. Of course that dream shatters when she finds out the illusion doesn't affect herself. You could be on to something though, she could already be here and we just can't see her.

The title might have been clickbait but the idea that certain gods have unique powers could be interesting. The gods may all have been mortal, but I'm not a fan of "standardising" them. It's far more interesting if they have unique powers and abilities (as a result of their different origins, experiences or knowledge). I'd certainly favour Tumeken having special connection to the sun over him just liking to use fire magic. Maybe some gods can specialise in elemental manipulation (creating a storm would be different from being able to control existing ones), while others are good at telekinesis or transfiguration. It's a bit boring if they can all do the same stuff.

I have noticed your kind does tend to blindly stumble forward towards danger simply because it exists. What is your word for that?
- We call it being a hero.
