Hmm idk itd be really odd for it to be Kerapec and also quite ironic so maybe? Kerapac was against Kranon and his religious ways and the ritual to summon Xau-tak that failed and mutated Kranon and a few other dragonkin. He also "assists" the player in spoiling Kranons plans further. Kranon views Kerapec as "wrong" and weak willed, but to our knowledge Kranon is the person who knows the most about Xau-tak so one would think he'd recognize Kerapac even if his form had been twisted. Kranon doesnt necessarily want to end all life, even though summoning Xau would likely effectively do just that. He wants to free the down trodden from their current lives of misery. He is a zealot who believes his faith and the changes brought on by it will make the world better. (Spoiler: it wont.) I have seen the dark universe yawning, where the black planets roll without aim;
Where they roll in their horror unheeded, without knowledge or lustre or name.

Kerapac couldn't be Xau Tak primarily because Kranon/Ambassador was allied with/trying to summon Xau Tak while simultaneously denouncing Kerapac in his lore books. Xau Tak is some kind of unthinking divine entity as far as I'm aware. Like Gielinor in the Nomad questline, except without corporeal form. Is that really why Kranon wanted to summon Xau Tak? I thought it was his alternate plan to deal with the curse of the stone of jas and he was trying to manipulate others into becoming zealots for that end

Originally that was the plan. But Kranon was released of the curse upon his first encounter with Xau-Tak during the failed first attempt at the ritual. And then Kerapac destroyed the stone freeing all the dragonkin. But Kranon still wants to summon Xau. His reason is to bring his grace to this world.
