IF this is the "thing" Zaros mentioned to Seren in CoM being "of something else" when referencing Elder Gods, then they are aware of IT, but no concern seems to be shown..



Or even if it is not we have no idea what is coming....




Are the other Gods as dis-concerned or are they oblivious?

I checked out some of the Myths' Guild books from OSRS and this http://oldschoolrunescape.wikia.com/wiki/Imcandoria%27s_fall in particular has a similar Lovecraftian vibe as Xau-Tak. The reference to black rocks in particular caught my attention. I don't know if there's already some OSRS lore for this thing, but we know a lot of the lorebooks were written by RS3 devs.

I don't think it's Xau-Tak itself mind, as the people observing it should go insane if that were the case, but perhaps it's some kind of avatar? -
I have noticed your kind does tend to blindly stumble forward towards danger simply because it exists. What is your word for that?

Based on a read through, I'm thinking that this is OSRS explaining what civilization fell and became the Cave Horrors of Mos Le'Harmless. If that is true (since that is part of the earlier pieces for the Xau-tak puzzle), it would indeed be a reference to Xau-Tak or some servant of it.

A) It could be an idol of chthonian demon who took charge after summoning for himself, with no relation to xautak (btw could tolna rift and lumbridge swamp corruption too be rouge chthonian demons broke free from Z/Z?)

B) Not sure to what extent can Oldschool be considered lore

C) Could be xautak's agent/manifestation but dunno how Imcadian relate to mos'l harmless and rabid's archipelago, there sure aren't xautak's decoration lying everywhere...or are they? are we? :D

Oldschool has his own little lore, a alternative world where we never killed Guthix, and one that if Jagex never updated itself. SO if there is a relation to Xau-tak, that's ORS lore then, and probably isn't related to ours, maybe the origins is?

Over all, Xau-Tak is pretty interesting.

OldSchool is its own world, but Jagex seem to be trying to keep the lore/general backstory between the games somewhat consistent. Dragon Slayer II for instance references Kethsi (and indirectly bane), Elder Artifacts beyond the stone, the Dragonkin Languge from OOAK, and Jas as female. The Myths' Guild even has a book that's a near-direct sequel to Last Riders, despite the book not even existing in OSRS. In the absence of contradicting RS3 lore I don't see anything wrong with at least taking it into account. -

AFAIK Imcandoria's fall was written by Mod Raven. I'm unsure what to think of it due to not being able to visualise the locations in it. It FEELS like it's intended to reference locations on the map that we know of, but I don't know what.

The authors of the book are supposedly from the Isle of Garmr, which has some kind of dungeon with forges and giants.

Imcandoria itself was supposedly surrounded by Auspah tribes, and judging by its name, was home to Imcando dwarves. Imcandoria was supposedly turned into a frozen wasteland after the encounter with whatever that creature was.

We have two snowy locations connected to the Imcando (Asgarnian Ice Dungeon & Ice Mountain), but neither matches up with what's in the book. You never were our brightest star, Khazard. 'Vermin slaughtered like lambs'? What does that even mean?
