Xautak seems to me like a background, multiworld presence (awareness) that can manifest and act only if summoned (like in Loarnab fight) or under certain, very specific conditions (daemonheim Rift, deep sea conditions, high concentration of Anima, elder artifact or god activity...), but otherwise lies dormant and can't be noticed over our daily activities and usual thoughts, unless it gets power up.
Similar to Zaros/Seren subtle, unconscious manipulations with our thoughts and emotions, with the difference that Seren/Zaros actually have goals and ideology/agenda and are rather consistent, while Xautak wants to twist and consume and/or has his own totally incomprehensible, insane eldritch goals.
He has certain elder-godlish feel to me, yet even elder gods have their goal and purpose, while cyclic and simple. I would imagine him as Elder god who broke the cycle of death and rebirth in the Anima and becomes something else. He could lost interest in building world, laying eggs, die in sleep, turn into Anima and rebirth from it, maybe he wants to consume everything, grow like omnipresent spirit, make his own anima by twisting itself in madness and ''live'' forever or something.
