I'm so happy to see this - I always loved this ship! Any chance they could be added into the game at some point? You can still talk to Jessika/Korasi at the River Noumenon, after all.
So I'm slightly conflicted. On the one hand, more LGBT representation is obviously good. On the other hand, "lesbians" are fetishized/objectified, so I tend to be... suspicious of motives at times for including lesbian couples in media, or of male fans supporting them.
This may be another product of my sour experience with the MLP fandom. Two background characters in My Little Pony were possibly implied to be lesbians (or not - the writers certainly said repeatedly they were just supposed to be best friends, and the show is aimed at a preschool audience, so...). The bronies immediately went into hardcore pervert mode, while using an extremely thin and transparent facade of "tolerance" (while many of their comments revealed they didn't have the slighest clue of what actual lesbian relationships are like, and were getting their knowledge from porn).

For the original media in this case, I don't thin there's anything to worry about. They're characters written
as characters
, not as boobs on legs as some female characters in media practically get portrayed. Their story's written
as a story
, not as something for male players to have the hots for. These are two developed characters who carry a story over a trilogy (and then some), and their relationship is fleshed out to match -- not just a shallow inclusion for shallow reasons.
I'm all too aware that relationships between women in media are all too often portrayed as "hot" and little more. But that's certainly not the case here.
(As for fans -- in this thread, at least, people seem to be pretty respectful on the whole.)

Sorry, I got caught up with real life (and trivial distractions)... and didn't end up getting back to you. Thank you - when you put it that way, it does help put my mind at ease a little.
So, are you going to put this in the game, or are you going to pull a J.K. Rowling, and only let Dumbledore be gay when it is convenient for the publishers and promoters?

Lord of the Rings at least had the balls to put a gay actor in a similar role (Gandalf). Both JK Rowling and Jagex want to dance around the problem without actually making a strong stand to it
