Continued...

Adventures are generally seen as a clumsy interfering nuisance, and sometimes helpful, but generate so much economic benefit that they are tolerated in any case, and everyone wants to be one. So it would be no surprise that people pump up the prices the moment we turn up :)
The purpose of adventure is to shine light into dark places,
Poke monsters with a sharp stick, Then steal anything that isn't nailed down!

Imagine if we had a socialistic economy :D Anyone that made over 1m would have to help pay for lower class that made 10gp/hr. Wouldn't we be all against that? :D Honestly, I probably wouldn't even pay to help those pathetic level 3 "Men" and "Women."

Speaking of, we could also estimate how much people made by looking at the amount of gp we get if we pickpocket them. An average man has 3gp in his pocket. A guard has 30gp. If we read the signpost outside the varrock palace (near the two fountains), it tells us that our nefariousness causes them to become completely broke or something when we pickpocket them.
I worship Mah, for she is mah homegirl! The correct adjective for Mah's followers are: Mahomies, Mah-homeboys, or Mah-homegirls.

You should probably check against Managing Miscellanea as well. 15 subjects after Royal Trouble that withdraw up to 75K a day working for you at 100% approval in return for the goods you are asking for. That is 5,000gp a day each in return for their work and goods. I wonder what that says about the post-quest island economy. The purpose of adventure is to shine light into dark places,

Lore wise, i'd like to think that there are more than 15 workers on the island.... Maybe a couple couple hundred thousand workers/people living on the island... A jmod said somewhere that there are at least 2000 varrockian guards guarding the borders of the city, lore-wise, but in game, it may look like their are perhaps 3 guards at each entrance to the city.

I don't really have much to contribute, I just wanted to say you did an excellent job making this thread and I appreciate the time you must have put into it. Nice work.

You may or may not find this interesting.

Nice analysis Sola, but I'm still skeptical that lore-wise adventurers really do make a lot of money. I'd need ingame evidence not related to the player character that it's the case.

Yes, I put Managing Miscellania in the "Things that don't fit" section :P

Was thinking about adding thieving amounts somewhere, may do so when I stop being lazy.

Wasn't aware of the "Monetary Reference" thread ;o I've made a comparison of some of our values on page 3 (moved).
I'm too Unaligned to have a forum signature.

It's from the IG RP forum but you'd be surprised of the kind of things you can find there. A lot of people dismiss RPers but some are very committed and creative with the game's lore and setting. Most of the time.

And going by these numbers, we as individual players, could probably fund an Empire bigger than that of Zaros. Wouldn't that be a sight?

Oh God. Training Prayer will never feel the same.

Demon Butler: "Sir, I know you're paying me, but this is ridiculous."

Host: "Whatever do you mean?"

Demon Butler: "You're actively making me watch whilst your buddies run in and out, throwing away an average 48 bones individually worth double what you pay me bi weekly. Meanwhile, you have me fetch herbs worth hundreds of coins a piece just so you can burn them and your friends pay you millions to do this. And if that wasn't bad enough, you've dedicated this entire room to Saradomin."

Seriously, though. I enjoyed this.
