don't understand the distaste for sailing rofl. makes absolutely no sense.. so you're telling me.. you'd run to an obelisk and back to the bank paying bank to get 99 summoning to break the game over sailing on an mmo that ENCOURAGES ADVENTURING, sailing is the definition of exploration and adventure lool.

If you want to play rs3 that badly then go play rs3, summoning is there. So is everything else broken you probably want to add.

As I've said 100000 times, the game will not suddenly turn into Rs3 with Summoning. Rs3 was a mistake. OSRS right now is a mistake and will continue to be a mistake without the glorious additon of the best skill in the game, otherwise known as Summoning.

Can't we get Dungeoneering or Summoning instead?

When discussing possible new skills for Old School Dungeoneering and Summoning always come up in conversation. While there are elements to both of these skills that many members of the community would like to see in Old School, we have several reasons for not pursuing these skills.

One of the key reasons for us not wanting to release Dungeoneering or Summoning is that we would like to take Old School RuneScape in a different direction to RuneScape 3. The community have told us time and time again that they want to see more content that is unique to Old School rather than re-creating content from RS3. Creating a new skill, rather than taking ones that have existed previously, gives us the freedom to make a skill that truly fits Old School and will continue to take the game on a path that is distinct from RS3.

On top of this, Dungeoneering and Summoning both come with their fair share of balancing issues. Introducing either of these skills as they were would change Old School in a massive way. The impact that chaotic weaponry or the Summoning skill would have on combat is huge and big changes to the way combat works in Old School is something that the community have consistently been against since day 1. Creating a skill from scratch allows us to mould the balancing around Old School to make sure we aren't turning the game on its head.

since i was not a pvp'er i liked summoning a lot for skilling money making and pve'ing
i can understand why pvp'ers don't like it

perhaps.. there could be worlds where summoning did not work at all, even if you had 99 summoning (within osrs) this may balance some of the pvp opponents to the idea

i quit around when summoning got released, near the beginning it was not so bad
i don't know if it got worse, i will wiki it =)

i would say if they implement it they have to have the "no summoning worlds" too

When he says "chill" he just means calm down and keep an open mind. I support this, osrs is going in that direction anyways give it a few years When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.-Jimi Hendrix

In my opinion, RS3 sacrificed many cultural features that draws people to OSRS. If someone has a forum post somewhere that highlights the complaints to the summoning skill's implementation I would like to read it, perhaps it started off well and went too far?

. Yup, they can harden and fight even more vehemently against this crap.

Survey says, original to OSRS ...why do have suuuuch a hard time accepting that?

Okay? That's actually the opposite of what I said but you still chose to reply with "Yup".

On the subject of minds, I think it would really be a large benefit to yourself if you opened yours.

Yup, because you are RIGHT, they CAN change...and fight EVEN HARDER against this garbage =)

Mind opened, hate this crap. :D Luckily for me , the majority of players here does too, hence the survey answer I direct you to go read.

Open your mind, to the fact it's not happening ^_^

No, no. That's not change, that's literally the definition of having a closed mind.

It sounds more like a vocal minority than a majority to me and the survey you created in your head has no real value. Because it doesn't exist and it doesn't exist becauseyou made it up.

All you're really doing is continuing to close your mind further and had the gall to demand that I also close my mind. News flash: Switching around words does not change it's meaning. It only makes you bad at English and mental gymnastics. Open and close are not interchangeable words.

Listen, I know you're just trying to get a rise out of me so that the topic gets locked but you need to realize that won't stop me. I can always just make another thread, there's nothing that can stop me from doing that and I also know you're just going to talk yourself into a circle.

So honestly, stop. There's nothing you can gain from this. You won't change my mind, you'll only continue to close yours and demand I do as you do. So the door is over there, either chill or walk through it. I don't care which but you're not getting anywhere by having that closed mind of yours.
