Not moving on to something like pre-EOC was kind of the point of OSRS. If you don't like that, then this game isn't actually for you.

The likely hood of them changing in favor of Summoning is very unlikely, so making a vague statement like this isn't going to help your argument. Everything is subject to change in some manner, but the chances are quite varied, especially when it comes to someone's mindset. Is your mind going to change to oppose Summoning? Unlikely. The developers were quite clear on the balancing issues that Summoning would bring into the game and how they feel that Summoning, and Dungeoneering, are fundamentally against the direction they, and most of the community, want to lead OSRS towards. The whole purpose of OSRS was to be a legacy version of RuneScape 2, but the game has, little by little, developed in new ways that surpass even RS3, and the sudden implementation of Summoning would disrupt that development and compromise the integrity of OSRS.

It's fine if you believe Summoning was the best skill in the game, but please respect that most of the OSRS community does not agree with you and we don't want it in our game. Furthermore, please stop asking players to be open-minded when you are not open-minded on our side yourself. Both sides of this argument are very much so close-minded in their opinions, and honestly, there's nothing wrong with that. We shouldn't have to change our opinions just because someone disagrees with them. Let's all stop lying to each other and pretending to be open-minded on this matter when none of us are. We have our agendas and opinions, and we're very evidently clinging to them, and we shouldn't have to change that just for the pretense of "open-mindedness."

Summoning can happen and should happen.

Grand Exchange and dragon claws were in the NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN category in a lot of people's minds , even jmods said they wouldn't be added.

Look what happens, and a lot of people wanted pre eoc not 2007scape.

Pretty sure summoning came out in 2008 just like corp beast did, L0l summoning is just as old school as these other updates.

add in summoning again.

Can someone point me to articles/posts about the actual balancing problems with summoning?

I really actually want to learn the long arguments about it (please don't post replies here too much if there are just links I can have)

I have already seen the "it's not in the direction we or community seems to want to go" post but I'd really love some analyticals.

As a pve'er summoning (on the initial release) did not really do anything I did not like (I did not care about combat levels for example)

I realise I'm not in the majority here and that's totally cool!

I still have this little dream of "summoning allowed worlds" but I guess there are economic impacts that would be caused, ways to make money with summoning that would "pollute" all the servers (factors that are not just pvp and combat oriented)

But it was so cool to have summoning familiars, I don't really think the pet system is great i mean.. you took out an entire skill and gave me pets with low chance to obtain really? That's not equitable (imho)

Please understand I'm just a returner to OSRS I played way back, so be gentle? lol
