With the addition of raids the pvm community has grown, with the idea of the sailing skill, a raiding skill/ dungeoneering skill would cooperate greatly and will expand runescape.
The sailing skill should also be a sub skill of construction but can be trained alone but at a way slower rate than someone who can build larger boats since of their high construction, but it would be good if saling helped to train construction.
On the islands it can have tresure chest that require thieving, also caves which have random bosses as strong as the route u take. New type of trees to make dragon kebbit bolts for the dragon hunter cross bow with woodcutting req and fletching req.... fishing spots with new fish and from tressure chest chance of dragon lobster cage, sailor's rod, and Fishing net all wieldable which give extra chance for new fish. Attributes can be determined! The new fish can maybe be like purple sweets but for run energy or bait for a quicker catching of fish.( good for all ironmen). Ability for boat to sink if not sailed correctly and that u have a % chance of crash landing on a island with random difficulty, there can be different types of boats u can build for speed or to carry more treasure which collect points to unlock the sailor costume and tropical cosmetics.
It can also have crew ships (grouped sailing with clan) in which the islands travelled to are more based on raiding so treasure chest will contain food and potions. Sailing can be a safe death if made into minigame skill. Just a idea for enlarging the pvm and skillers, and if the content goes far u can have battleships in which there is a chance two parties meetup( % chance) and the team that is victorious from the battles get a portion of the defeated party treasure. Also the more higher your sailing, the more islands u can travel to before having to go back to port. But for crews the person with the lowest sailing lvl determines the amount of islands able to be travelled to in one go. More..
