It would be helpful to have a more informative interface with the GE. You already have the npc's who can give you prices of items but it's not really useful since you can just look it up yourself when you're placing buy orders. Adding a price history with percentage change would be nice to see for someone like me who enjoys using the GE. To stay with the Runescape atmosphere you could have an npc with a board giving more detailed financial information like a Bloomberg terminal. Whatever it is, be creative so the npc's around the exchange are more useful to talk to.
Using the GE can be a pain in its current state. For example, when you're searching for items to place buy orders or even find prices as soon as you click on an item the search window closes and you have to click the box on the top and retype everything. Also, if JAGEX is going to place temporary buy limits for each player, at least have a message saying "you must wait another 4 hours" so I know I'm not wasting an order spot. I usually cross reference a wiki for max limits but I don't want to have to check my order history every time (which isn't helpful since it is very short).
Having the GE helps the exchange of money and items. I never understood the grief players had for it since you can make personal contracts anyways. It is what brought me back to the game again. My suggestions are in no way all inclusive and would like to see more suggestions. I hope to see it updated and add further depth to this great game.
