Wouldn't it be cool to have another skilling boss but for the construction skill? The mechanics would be something along the lines of having to construct a weapon to kill the boss. You get tiny xp drops as you build the weapon and then upon successful completion of the weapon you use it to kill the boss.

There would also be a collapsible barrier that will need to be repaired as you build the weapon, again granting tiny xp drops. The boss will constantly be trying to attack the weapon and the barrier will be there to protect it until completion.

If the team is not efficient in keeping the barrier repaired then the boss will attack the weapon and reset progress on it. There would be a time limit to get the weapon built and boss KO'd similar to other skilling bosses.

Once the time limit is reached the supplies that need to be gathered in order to build the weapon run out and if the weapon is not completed... game over.

Upon death, the team would get a big cons xp drop. This would offer an alternative more engaging method of training cons sort of like mahogany homes but with this you could profit. XP rate would be something the community could vote on but for sure less than normal cons training to make up for the fact that its profitable and less click intensive. It could have some of the mahogany homes things like plank sack and cons outfit as a rare drop or all-new cons related rewards all together.

Why do you guys want to get huge amounts of exps in non combat for doing combat. The fastest way to level in farming is to ignore farming and do combat. How is that a good method of farming? One of the best way to level in woodcutting is combat, so why is that? You guys want to completely ignore skills and get easy 99's.

You should use the skills to "kill" bosses. Look at fm. Past 50, no one does lighting logs any more. They go to the area to cut and burn longs to keep wintertodl locked away. No combat required. Look at rc. You have to power a being that blocks a portal so that the monsters can not get through. All the combat is done by NPC's. Perhaps you can have a construction boss where you have to build things to keep a "boss" trapped.

Fastest, easiest, and most viable ways to level both farming and woodcutting is through actually farming and actually chopping down trees. The only truthful thing you mentioned is about firemaking. By the way this wouldn't technically be combat because the primary aspect is to build. What you build does the damage, but you personally would just be building i.e constructing.

Reason for it? Well truthfully constantly tearing an item apart just to rebuild it over and over is not engaging or interactive nor does it even make sense. It's also not fun, the whole point of the game.

Alternative idea,
Volcano eruption events where you need to build barriers to protect the city.
Higher levels let you build better barriers, redirecting the lava to the sea.
This lets the spade "dig" be more useful than just for clues.

Depending on the eruption class determines how effective each barrier will be.

Class 1 - Smooth flow
Class 2 - Rolling debris - Takes out the closest barricade, fills in trenches)
Class 3 - Flying debris (Can smash barricades, burn wood barricades)
Class 4 - Earthquakes! Causes rifts (Unwanted trenches)
Class 5 - Armageddon (Monsters escape the mountain too)

Defense types

Trenches (lv 10)- get them spades out!
Wood barricade (lv 20) - At least you tried.
cobbled barricades (lv 40)- Added rock from trenches to wood barricades
Stone barricades (lv 60)- Creating an actual wall in a pinch.
Fire shelter (level 80) - A last resort for the citizens. If not constructed before a failed event you will have to rebuild the city before you can take place in the event again.
Successful event completion will provide a substantially better XP reward than having to rebuild the city.

Every heard of Hespori? It is a combat boss that gives 12,600 farming exps. It only takes a few minutes to get a seed, plant it and then ignore it for a day (32 hours top). Once you get the ability to fight it, you barely have to do any more farming. You might not consider it fast since it does take time for it to grow, but once you get the levels, it only takes a few minutes a day of farming and you have 99 farming from combat.

A good way to do woodcutting is killing ents. Again combat for wc exps.

Combat should give you combat exp, while construction should involve construction, not combat. Mahogany Homes gives a much better way than simply tearing down things you already built.

Look at what Gim meahand suggested for a better way.

This is a neat idea! It definitely would add a more engaging means of training Construction (it can be so lonely!). I can imagine having to build a giant ballista or repair/construct a castle to fend off monsters. Perhaps even rewards such as a hammer we could actually wield with no combat stats but gives a small chance of saving a plank when constructing something like a mahogany table.

Really cool idea, support.

When is cons combat based?

I would imagine it would be akin to Guardian of the Rift for runecrafting. Although not explicitly combat oriented, you're using the skill to help the guardian fend off enemies.

Hespori is not getting anyone 99 farming.... #1 hespori killer in the world with maxxed out 200m farm xp was only able to get enough hespori kills for 17m farm xp and that took years + tons of normal farming as well. I'm 99 farming with 16.4m xp, for awhile, I was averaging 1 hespori seed every 1m farm xp obtained, clearly not taking just a few minutes to get a seed and then the 3 days of growth time to add to it.

As far as ents, you do actually get combat exp for killing them, not woodcutting exp. The woodcutting exp comes from harvesting logs from dead ents. By the way, it's not really a good way to do woodcutting so thats also false. Xp rates are low tier at best, profit is low tier as well, and risk is high being in wilderness.

In my proposal you would not be doing combat, you would be building and repairing i.e. construction, not combat.
