Hi, as a RuneScape player since about 2005, I’ve played the game on and off again as many of us do. One of the biggest reasons old school RuneScape was released in the first place was because old players felt like they couldn’t keep up with all of the updates and people wanting to return to the game felt like they couldn’t because of how much the content and meta has changed.
It’s sad that one of the exact problems OSRS was created to solve is now afflicting me again, but I still know how great this game and its development philosophy is with community engagement, so I know the content is GOOD, but I still feel a bit too overwhelmed to return at the moment.
On to my point - I know the OSRS team does something like weekly or monthly updates on their YouTube channel going over the new content, however, I think that it would be a great idea to make maybe 3-6 month update videos summarizing the new content that has come out in that time frame and maybe summarizing how the meta in game has shifted if at all because of that content. This would be great to encourage people like myself to return to the game and ultimately keep RuneScape’s player count as flourishing as possible!
Thanks, please let me know if any of the eyes at Jagex see this, because I’m truly on the fence about returning to the game. I’m the type of person who would have to sift back through the year I’ve been absent and catch myself up on all that has happened.
