This doesn't belong to this thread but I didn't feel like creating a new thread.
This is about the pid system. You said you'll discuss it in a meeting this Friday.
So currently in PvP, when you hit your opponent with melee the hitsplat appears either on the same tick as you get your xp drop or 1 tick after. (Can't appear at the same time when both players hit each other at the same time)
Here's how a fight could go with the current system:
Players A and B hit each other at the same time and both are very low hp.
Both players decide to take a risk and pull out their dharok's axe
A gets pid and hits enough to kill B, B dies without getting to hit A.
But if A got pid but didn't do enough damage to kill B, he will be able to eat before B's hitsplat appears on him.
This system results in a lot of luck based deaths/kills. And here's an example of what can happen:
I'm fighting someone who is bad at dharok pking, obviously I would never take a "pid risk" where both players basically have a 50% chance of killing the other person, as he would otherwise have very little chance of killing me, so he might realise that I never take a risk in that situation and instead of eating he will always hit me with his dharok axe, giving him a good chance of killing me.
What needs to be done is to make the hitsplats ALWAYS appear 1* tick after the xp drop, that's how it worked in pre-eoc. It doesn't need to be impossible for both players to die at the same time outside of the duel arena, basically a pid system isn't needed for PvP.
*different with magic/range depending on distance, but basically the hitsplat timing is consistent.
