The way I see it, combating bots is similar to the war on drugs in a sense that where one door closes, another opens.
There is no single fix to eliminate bots permanently. When rolls out an anti-bot update, so do the bot companies. It's a perpetual cycle originating from the birth of RuneScape. Just enjoy the game and don't let it get to you.

If having a marketer instead of anti-cheating specialists trying to clam down the angry OSRS mob on future bot busting change isn't weird enough, what about them pointing to a new hire as the solution?
One will think the real solution to banning bots is through new technology upgrade, and now just adding a new hire... unless that new person has a magical ban hammer.
Anyway, we know Mod Sween is just a messenger.
Last checked such a new hire who is going to save OSRS from bots doesn't seem to have been hired already as they are still running the job advert:
Two more weeks past and not a word from Mod Sween or any OSRS sources, perhaps we should know it really won't matter if Mod Sween or OSRS lied again and nothing is going to change (at least not with this iteration of Jagex).
You aren't going to get one more bot removed regardless how many times you asked for it, if OSRS decided not to. Sorry!
It's not hard to remove bots. A MAJOR cutdown would be to MAC IP ban the users...Doesn't help when the idiots at jagex ban accounts, when they have bots to run tutorial island and everything.
