I remember this thread back when their was a lot of buzz around OSRS. To bad they didn't implement the (at the time forbidden) updates like GWD
earlier
on to give people something to look forward to...
I don't mean to rain on this parade, but I mean I cant help but think about the shear magnitude of potential this game had. If they just acted ever so slightly sooner with their new content.
Hopefully this can be a lesson to those who speak without thinking...
Sure GWD, or any of the new updates, might not have been in your best interests in the first few months of OSRS... but it sure would have kept plenty more people motivated in the early days... had Jagex mentioned the possibility of doing updates like that sooner people would have had
something
to look forward to.
So many people quit just because OSRS seamed like it was going to be an "open it up, and leave it to rot" type server in which their was nothing new besides patch after patch.
What we all need to remember is that their is actually very little incentive to play OSRS considering all of your Quests/Stats/and Bank is reset. Taking up another game easily seams like a better investment of time/money.
So to keep this game alive we really need to revaluate what we need/don't need as opposed to what we want/don't want. Just because u don't want something at a specific time doesn't devalue the ways in which it can positively impact the game. People are against any graphical update/GE/etc (which im not arguing for or against). I just ask that you keep an open mind rather than acting on impulse.
