Caz no 1 cares. No one wanted sailing i don't care what the rigged polls say. Every OSRS player ive ever talked to has been against a new skill, its like bring up the eoc in this game you immediately get attacked and raged at when bringing up such a taboo topic. I dont want a new skill i already have enough to do on OSRS maybe if i ever max which i doubt id be open to a new skill for now keep OS Old school...

It is not the time to ponder about the polls in OSRS or conspiracies now. I think most OSRS players are just tired of seeing the same old content being recycled numerous times regardless how much a smaller number of content creators appear to like them.

I don't think Jagex are going to cancel Sailing anyway. Doing so after hyping the new skill since 2022 will only make them laughingstocks to not just OSRS players but the game industry.

Besides, what else can OSRS show the investors and potential new Jagex owner they still worth something? Leagues 5... that may be huuuggeeee for a few days and then more than 50% of the players gone, ending with even significantly less players than it started with?

Of course we do. Consumers always want to see and test something before they buy. Even if we want to buy a used car, at least we get to kick the tires and test drive the lemon first regardless how the used car salesman said how great and huge it is, right? :P

I think it's worth noting that this is a huge undertaking and the first time Jagex have had a skill pass a poll. It's going to be like any huge infrastructure project irl i.e there'll be delays, lots of important community consultation etc.

We'd much rather have a well thought out skill developed than prioritise an unofficial timeline.

I do believe there's a discord for providing feedback too. :)

Delays happen, and unforeseen circumstances can cause changes in planning. Some communication would've been nice, but I'm not overly worried about them suddenly blowing off the beta and going back on their word on how they would tackle the implementation of this new skill.

The Winter Summit's coming in the days following January 20th, I would expect that we'll at the very least get an update on Sailing. If there's still no mention of Sailing at that point, then it might be time to ask some questions about what's coming when.

Either way, time will tell.
