Fixing the bot problem

There is clearly a huge botting issue in osrs, what type of solutions would everyone suggest to fix this? i would not be opposed to re-instating the trade limit from back in the day. the bots are ruining the game.

Just play OSRS as a side game once a while. Forget the economy. Forget the bank. Forget levels, xp and grinding. Play only instanced activities so I don't even see the bots, and they won't bother me. Avoid unnecessary trips to the GE and Wildy so I won't get scammed or lured.

Trade limit? It should help if it is only for free players, but I won't pay to play a game with trade restrictions or "fair" trades.

I dont know if anybody will read this, but I want to express my concern regarding bots as well. I report RC bots, Zulrah bots, thieving bots etc almost daily. They are basically everywhere and can not be missed at all. What keeps Jagex from banning them? Im curious.

How on earth are you still getting scammed or lured after playing this long? I literally haven't been scammed or lured since I was in high school, over ten years ago.

being a new player.

scamming is still huge its why you see the same scams over and over at the ge, because they work. theyd stop doing them if they didnt work.

I don't mean me. They are still players complaining about scamming and luring bots though.

I don't even care about bots as OSRS is just something I will do on a side. However, not everybody can ignore bots like me, so I gave them my opinion what and or may not help the "fix" the severe botting OSRS situation.

High bond price should discourage bots. I doubt this current Jagex will ban many OSRS bots. If bots don't go away with diminishing gp from playing the game and accelerating cost for getting free membership, we may need to see what the new Jagex with their new owner will do in a few months.

IIRC, Mod Sween said only 1-10% of OSRS players were bots earlier this year. Were bots a big problem really?

Yesterday, the very same Mod Sween confessed they banned over millions of bots this year and the last 2 months alone, they banned 200k bots each.

Something don't seem to add up in the 2 versions of Mod Sween speeches then and now. What do you think? Was the Mod Sween right earlier this year that OSRS had no big botting problem? Or the Mod Sween yesterday is actually telling us the truth that we have hugggeee bot problems in OSRS?
