With the "fix" yesterday, Duke Mining is still a training method although we need to pay attention more attention to the screen and click more.

indeed it is. it only effects the people who hold down spacebar.

so where is the big loss you are referring to?

No... more than that... It affects the real players who have their AFK training method taken away more. OSRS should have just totally removed xp from Duke Mining if that's their true intention.

no it only effects the pleople that hold the spacebar down.
that was the unintentional training method.

so again, what is the big loss?

are you arguing for the sake arguing again?

So you want an AFK'able method of mining? OSRS isn't an idle game. Sure, there's loads of lower intensity methods to train and plenty of things to do on the side as you do those things. Because it's not an idle game, you are meant to be manually in control of your character. That's the spirit of the game.

As for why it took 1,5 months? I don't expect people to have figured the mining method out on day 1 (I may be wrong here). It's not something with a huge impact on the game, so Jagex had the luxury of observing the behaviour and assessing the impact of it. At least, that's what I think.

Bottom line, the mining method was unintended, even game developers can make mistakes, as we're all human after all. To me this feels like a weird hill to die on, you can't be bothered to click once every 5 minutes?

It doesn't have to be an idle game to have AFKable features. Forestry has similar AFK non-depletable resource content for players who chose to do so for less xp.

We are talking about the loss (or at least ambiguity) of the AFK training method. This also answers the question to Tenebri so I am not going to reply to them separately.
