Original message details are unavailable.
Early progress is slow, but I'm loving it.

Not difference in early or late progress, or fast or slow in winning a Black Party Hat, or getting gp from the Vorkath and subsequent updates, so no sweats. The more you play, the more chance you will get though.

Besides, you can also play RS3 AFK and still win a Black Party Hat or get gp toward buying one, while you are busting your tail 6 hours a day for the next 8 weeks in OSRS League.

I'm sure you can get rune at least if you pick regions you're familiar with and grind out the points for those. If HM vorkath is a dps race and you can get consistent kills, I'm sure you can make at least 5b in the time period until leagues 4 ends which could be enough for a black phat.

Let's look at some real facts. A lot of players have obtained over 15k League Points and some over 20k already after only 2 days:

Some players have done almost 10k total clue scrolls:

Some with almost 10k Soul Wars Zeal:

So 42k League 4 Points are definitely possible and extremely easy for at least certain players. If you want to spend 6 hours a days for 8 weeks to get something similar to a Christmas event quest reward that most players can get themselves in 10 minutes, there should be no problem.

Meanwhile for OSRS players, don't forget you can pretty much just login to RS3 every day during the event period starting just next Monday and have a "Nice" chance in winning Black Party Hats, even if you plan to spend 6 hours a day the next 8 weeks to get a rune trophy.

The converse is probably not true though, as RS3 players planning on killing Vorkath and such are most unlikely to just log in OSRS and AFK their way to a rune trophy if they can't get 10k clue scroll rewards and 10k Soul Wars Zeal in 2 days.

OP, how are you doing with Leagues 4?

It has been a while since Leagues 4 started, and talking from my own experience, while it was quite possible to get 42k points when Leagues started, it is getting late to achieve so if you are just starting now or didn't get too many points already and you are playing only 4 to 6 hours a day for the remaining 6 or so weeks.

As we are already in week 3 of 8 of Leagues 4, I have to update my original comment to it may be too late to start League now (or if you have started and are too low in point progression) to join in, if you are wishing to get a Rune Trophy or above with 4 to 6 hours of playing OSRS as OP planned to.

I don't know how OP is doing with League 4, but the better news for him is we know now Black Partyhat will not be discontinued and it means we have no time limite to get enough gp to buy them, unlike getting 42k points to get a Rune Trophy in OSRS League in the reaming 5+ weeks. The even better news is we are going to have the very first Black Partyhat released this weekend. Everybody in RS3 is going to have a chance in winning one (or more) outright with just minutes of playing RS3 a day.

RS3 Black Phats have been released. At earliest going, they are selling for 14 bil gp each, not quite as low as 5b yet, and we will see the clear pattern in the coming days.

However, even at 14b gp in RS3, Black Phats are still very much obtainable.

On a separate note, with League 4 one-third gone already, it is likelier too late to start now or continue for the 42k points hunt if you are too far out. That should give those who are dropping out in League 4 even more time to have a better chance to either win a RS3 Black Partyhat or buy one with gp earned.

We are now in week 4 of 8 of Leagues 4. I hope you are doing well with your goal.

We can also take a look at some "newer" OSRS players who are known by many in Runescape for years and see where they stand and where are they heading in Leagues 4. This may give some OSRS players like OP some ideas on how are, or aren't, 42k Leagues Points reasonably easy to accomplish Leagues 4.

Let's look at the popular "new" OSRS player Maikeru who happends to be a top 100 players in many RS3 Hiscores and events, who should be no stranger to even the OSRS community now as he has been playing OSRS for like 2 months, and streaming Leagues 4 content since its day 1. He usually streamed 8 to 12 hours a day, and ocassionally 24 hours. Here is where Maikeru stands:

https://secure.runescape.com/m=hiscore_oldschool_seasonal/overall?category_type=1&table=0&user=maikeru

He is currently with 31,460 Leagues Points and ranked 24,669. At this pace, I think he can reach 42k Leagues Points by the end of this event in January. However, keep in mind he has spent at least two or three times the 4 hours OP can spend a day for his points. Essentially if he only had 4 hours to play each day, it might take him the full 8 weeks to achieve what he got now - about 31.5k Leagues Points.

I think this speaks volume. Newer players to OSRS Leagues 4 can, but won't have an easy time, to get a 42k Points Rune Trophy, even if they started playing 4 hours a day from the very first day.

Leagues 4 is approaching its half way point soon, I hope OP and the others are progressing well, with their goal of 42k points for Rune Trophy.

I have a bit of good news for OP on his road to a Black Partyhat in RS3 via Vorkath though. Some one with a larger sample (819 kills) of Vorkath posted an almost max cash Vorkath loot log, with an average kill time of 3.5 minutes.

https://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/comments/18e9y2u/loot_from_vorkath_log_hm/

At this drop rate, it will be only 5 to 6k RS3 Vorkath to get enough for a Black Partyhat. How are you doing with the RS3 Vorkath, OP?
