These forums do need to stay around in some manner...even if it's replacing them with a modern code stack like the very popular forum now-a-days "Discourse".

I was very pleased to see the comments on the Twitter and OS Reddit announcement about this, and many people are in favor of keeping an official forum on the website alive....even if they personally don't use them all the time.

Biggest issue of the removal is for clans, who will suffer BADLY because of this. Socials platforms like fansites (Reddit), and Discord, have proven to have very little recruitment in many clans, everyone succeeds from the Forums. It will hurt clans across both games. Offsite has been pushed before, a few times, and has always failed. Very bad move imo.
Can I turn in a paper without citing all sources?

I do hope they can figure out a better solution for future clan recruitment outside of discord. They should look to update their in-game social features to mimic how other MMOs are. I am hoping that the moving to Jagex accounts will help them do this.

Honestly, I would assume that the lack of usage is not the full reason behind the removal of the forums. I would imagine that Jagex is trying to reduce their operations, and the removal of a large somewhat desolate system is a high priority to decommission.

In general, I still want to see the forums online. I hope that once they move to view-only, we as a community start to archive the pages so that they can be viewed in the future.

Thanks very much for your support and comment. It just proves that some players only use this forum/platform for OSRS as i didnt realise that there are threads on those other platforms asking to keep our forum alive. Thanks and stay safe.
