This thread is old, but people are still commenting so here are my two cents:

No support, the phats are way to expensive for this. why would i grind my behind off for 5 months to being able to afford 1/10 of the cheapest phat if i can buy a replica from solomons? unless it costs 100k rc, and even then!
just think they didnt want to even rework the graphic of third age because they feared it'd affect the market... let alone mess with the rares market which is, even more today, super delicate and volatile.

so yea, if you want a phat, save money? cant afford it? but a noxious set and kill monsters in order to afford it. or be smort liek meh and do clues <3

For reasons that are not "on-topic" mostly but the main reason is that obscene wealth shouldn't be celebrated.

The only people who would suffer are the people who already have it and don't want their wealth to drop. Pretty sure they can afford it regardless.

If you don't wanna buy it then don't.

I've survived not having one, you can survive a price drop if it happens.

There are so many npcs/pets that are obtainable which wear a partyhat, we have the ability to wear a chromatic partyhat (which imo looks pretty nice being a multicoloured up-side-down partyhat) yet, none of which has altered the price of existing partyhats. (honestly, partyhats have only gone up in price, and by a large amount). So i don't see how cosmetic override versions of partyhats from Solomon's store would affect it at all.


Now as for what Jeebus Krust has mentioned. If partyhats were to drop in price for any reason whatsoever. All players that has played RS after phats were discontinued 20 years ago, clearly have an understanding of how to make money. So the sudden drop in price of phats will most likely not change much and most players banks will remain intact. Not only that, but we have seen major price drops in hundreds of items over the past 20 years. Seismic wand/singularity used to be over max cash stack together, now they are both obtainable to any account doing a simple moneymaking method for a couple hours.

To be honest, I'd prefer RS3 to follow in OSRS's footsteps when it comes to "rares" where they get released every holiday since they are literally just paper hats that offer no additional boosts and are simply cosmetic. Sure if they were to do something like this right now, for a while, the economy would be wacky. But eventually with enough time, it would even out and everybody would forget about it as we do with every major item update.

No support for rereleasing holiday items every year.

They are meant to be exclusives in rs3 so if you miss out then oh well.
