When i load my keepsake'd amor and wear nothing, the items show up.

But when I'm not holding a weapon and an offhand weapon my claws don't show up. they only show once i equip a weapon.

Is this something that is normal, or can it be fixed? don't see why i have to hold a weapon for the override to work, when you dont need to wear amor for the override to work then

That is meant to happen.
Your character punches without a weapon, so it wouldn't make much sense to let you hold a sword/wand/bow and start punching with it.

At least all weapons of a combat style can override others now. (Though limited between 1h/2h, which makes sense anyway.)
At the beginning weapons could only override weapons of a similar type, ie Crossbows could only override crossbows, you couldn't override a 2h Crossbow with a Bow override like you can now.

The old version of the Obliteration keepsake from the crucible is still in the list of my keepsakes, but it no longer works with any staff after the bounty hunter update. I'm not sure if this is intentional or not.

First of all, apologies if I'm digging this out from the grave; I really didn't feel like creating a thread simply to post this concern.

Now to the issue at hand:

I just used a Keepsake key on a Zephyrium rapier and it so happens that it looks different from what it apparently should when wielded outside of Daemonheim. Basically, when inside the dungeons, the weapon looks perfectly normal, but when out in the world, the blade for some reason grays out (and even purples out) all over with a shine to it much alike the Gravites'.

Since images speak better than words:

I actually somewhat admire this manner of "dual personality" with the keepsake'd weapon, yet I'd very much prefer it to look like what it does inside Daemonheim. After all, that exact aspect was the one I was expecting when I decided to use a Keepsake key for it... :|

EDIT: A little while ago it occurred to me to change the Skybox/Filters settings to make out whether the environment could be affecting the sword's blade, and to my surprise, it was! Upon setting my Skybox to Shattered Worlds, the grayish-purplish that covered the rapier's blade vanished near entirely and made it look almost exactly as when within Daemonheim!

Apparently, it seems lighting and some other visual effects are what cause the Zephyrium rapier (and perhaps also all other Dungeoneering and even Gravite swords) to change in appearance. I'm frankly not quite certain this is an actual visual glitch anymore; lighting can realistically mutate the color and shine in objects, and other things in-game are affected the same way as the rapier, so maybe this is after all perfectly normal.

I now definitely believe it's quite interesting how the blade interacts with the surroundings; it's almost mystical! I guess it's alright how it currently is since I can just alter the Skybox/Filters settings and force it to look the way I want! ^_^

As a wrap, a picture of the result:
