Yes, according to this post they're in the same category. Remember only unbound weapons can be keepsaked.

Hello Dear Mods,

Well, i need one clear answer here ( please someone answer this !):
I want to put Statius Warhammer into keepsake. But I dont know, what to use in main hand to show it.
Some say - you need same speed, style and type for weapon to show. Is this true?
Because my plan is - drygore mace, but Statius warhammer shows.
Please, answer someone.

Yes, a Statius warhammer will override your drygore mace. You can wield any mace or warhammer, and the Statius warhammer will show.

Related to dragon keepsake keys, Beads of the dead (the item from shilo village) cant be keepsaked ,i'd appreciate it if this was looked in to, theres also a version of this thread on the high level forums that has gained some popularity
