To begin with, let me say that I am against the squeel of fortune. I think it´s a scam, not only in terms of cash but to the hundreds of people who do not use this to level their skills and make their money (Yes, people buy spins for that. Ice cream hats aren´t the hip new thing.). The squeel has so much potential, but sadly you choose to misuse it to gain money. I´d honestly rather pay 1£ extra a month. Please?
With MMGs post, I felt a glimmer of hope spark that you guys at Jagex had not completely closed your eyes to how this micro-transaction service undermines every single 99 before it´s release. This was largely due to a single line;
(...)"we’re making sure that we do not undermine what makes it the adventure game that millions of us, worldwide, enjoy on a daily basis"(...)
Today, my eyes scanned the home page. And went back. I did not believe it at first. I even clicked the post to make sure. You are actually giving us double spins this weekend.
This, is simply sad.
I´m not mad or angry at this update. I´m sad.
This update effectively doubles every money gain and every exp/h for anyone buying spins. This side of the SoF is what undermines the game I´ve played with great joy since 3rd grade. Yesterday, you made me think you were not all bad.
Today, I feel like I´ve been lied to. It feels like a punch to the stomach and spit in my face. If only you had a reason to do this. But no.
This, is simply sad.
I used to actually promote this game amongst friends, loving your well made quests and funny events.
After the SoF, I´ve not promoted this game to friends at all. Because when I do promote it, I also mention the sub-par graphics and bad community. Now I have to say that you can buy your way through the game too. And no quest or easter event can really make up for that. All the 99 capes lose meaning faster and faster because of the SoF.
I won´t lie. When I read the news post, I got a lump in my throat.
