I played through those days on an older account of mine which I lost information on :P I've enjoyed this game, still do very much, and even if updates aren't what I expected I just ignore it if I don't care for it, and continue to have fun on this game.

I am thankful for what you guys put into the game majority of the time and hope that the portion of the community that currently can't be thankful, will start being thankful. (as most of them are still playing anyways :P )

To those who think people are over reacting and bank space is no big deal, remember how to cook a frog. slow steps, it started with loads of cosmetics, and now it's an in game advantage, and even though it is a very small advantage. it's still an advantage. that's what people are upset about, what this means. they've turned the heat up on the frog by a couple degrees. it's only a matter of time...

Nice analogy, bit strange but interesting nonetheless.
My view is that people ask for stuff and expect it to always be the way the wanted it. People wanted bank space, they got it. Personally I am not going to get the bank space as I still have ~80 spaces left. At least until loyalty comes out.
People are always going to complain, but this is optional, and there will be other ways to obtain it soon if you do not want to pay for it. I feel the community is overreacting to a small update that most will probably forget within 1-2 weeks time.

Jagex doesn't care about their players. They never listen, they never make changes (anymore) based on what people actually want. They only care for money.
Sell off all your shares Jagex, let Runescape die a quick death, not a slow painful one like this.

Let me reply to what you've stated from a psychological perspective. The "foot in the door phenomenon" can explain why everyone should be angry at this update. It is defined as, "people's tendency to comply more readily with a large request if they have already agreed to a smaller favor." For Jagex this means their first step is to create more bank space with real world money, their next step would be something a little more, and a little more, and so on. Eventually the player community will comply after small updates build up and may be willing to accept a greater in-game advantage.

So is the General Store indirectly selling loyalty points?
Those points take time to gather, and buying bank spaces with real-world cash could save months of points better spent on an aura that gives in game advantages; buying this in Solomon's lets you buy more auras, giving you an advantage.
