This is where it looks like our opinions truly differ, Farm House. I play the game for the enjoyment it brings me, not the levels. The levels are a goal, sure, and great to have, but I do not view the time I spend in-game as wasted nor do I begrudge it. I do not have a great deal of free time, so when I spend this time playing a game I want to enjoy it.
If you do not enjoy training a skill, it sounds to me like you may benefit from trying a different one. Or perhaps mix things up with a D&D or two.
Basically, if it starts to feel like a chore, try a part of the game you haven't played much before. Always try to have fun, that would be my advice.
