@ Pips- I don't mean this against you personally, so please don't be offended when I say this..But I absolutely do NOT take promises of good stuff ahead as any form of assurance from Jagex. I always seem to end up being disappointed when I do.
Speaking of quality, I have a beef with y'all on the Solomon's shop items. It's this: They look good. Really, really good. As in, completely better than more or less any other items we have available to us. I know you guys keep saying that no previously existing content resources are directed from the game to create MTX updates, but I can't help but feeling that if those graphical resources were used on regular game updates, then those updates would have seen a major upgrade in graphical quality.
Even just adapting the Customization system to the regular game instead of basing it around Solomon's store could have been nigh on revolutionary- many, many new cosmetic rewards could have been made available to various minigames and activities, breathing new life into them. Jagex could have had greater creative freedom for weapon graphics, bringing out whatever awesome looking stuff y'all wanted to without the need to create and balance a totally new item. It could have greatly decreased the uniformity of the game by allowing people to use different animations for skilling or teleporting, and ALL of this serving as rewards for old or new content, giving us a bounty of new things to unlock. Put simply, it could have been AWESOME.
Instead, we get a system used only for a graphical MTX shop which a large number of players will likely ignore unless more free items are released on it. Compared to its potential, the customization with MTX is limited, useless, and makes no impact on the game whatsoever.
