first of all jagex constantly bans bots. bots are constantly being created. its a constant battle.
second of all, they made the announcement because it sounds like this bug added trillions of gp to the system. more than those lrc bots your talking about will ever make.
I think Jagex made this announcement to scare us away from abusing bugs as well as show us that they still actively track whats going on in the game.

I am so glad that you all have patched up that glitch. Seriously, why are people jeopardising themselves of a glitch that will eventually result in them getting banned, KNOWING that they will end up getting caught.
Very sad to be honest.. Cheating gets you absolutely NOWHERE! Now to get rid of those bots, that's the main priority more than anything else right now. :)

17 accounts out of ~ 120-130.000 bots / macroers / h/c hosters online every day.

Jagex, how can you really blame the players for exploiting a bug? If any player knew how to make gold without performing endless hours of grinding or merchanting they would have also. Think about it. It isnt the players faults for discovering easy money making strategies. On top of that the people who really deserve bannings never recieve them like hosting clans. Hot or cold, frosty flowers and seal games are all scams.. to to mention how much currency is bought online every game day...

If someone duped like 100bill in an hour they can sell that for real money. ONE HOUR = 100 B. 100 B = 40000 dollar or more! I wouldn't mind losing a maxed account for that amount of money. That's like a years pay for a lot of people.
They should've done a complete rollback. Yet again, another failure :| .
