I gotta admit that I wasn't expecting much from Jagex but they really did exceed my expectations this time. Seems like the fix was brought in almost flawlessly.
+1 Genuine "good job!" shout out to jagex from a sceptical fan. Hope you keep up the good work ;) !

Like some of the above persons said: don't go patting yourself on the back, just because you noticed and banned 20 bug abusers. So few accounts don't really affect the game as much as goldfarmers in grotworm lair, green dragons, living rock caverns, etc and rwt's (*cough*squeal of fortune*cough*solomons store*cough). Your message was only meant as a warning, to make an example. I for one have been a member for years, have never abused bugs, but when I have a slayer task in grotworm lair, I have to resort to low things as spot stealing to get it done.
So no offence, but when you break your own rules and let whole areas become bot infested, don't make it look like a big accomplishment when you banned 20 bug abusers.
And one more thing: ring of wealth update was also a mayor bug, but noone was banned because everyone thought it was meant that way. How do you spot the difference?

I'm glad that these people were punished but weren't punished fairly in my opinion. They have worked hard on there accounts and since they found a glitch they were happy. FREE MONEY is what everyone thinks. They should be rolled back too and given a chance. These people put there time into this game and Jagex just took it away cause of ONE (1) mistake. I feel they are also bragging about banning them by saying who is maxed and 200M xp stuff. I'm sorry but I don't like the way Jagex handeled this at all.

So instead of going after the 1000's of obvious bots who are making the game unusable and unfair, you go after 17 people who probably don't have near the effect. Not impressed.
Why does such a small number of players take precedence over the larger amount? Is it because many of the botters are paying you? Do you not realize this is hurting your community and is giving your game a bad name which will result in the death of it?
I'm a programmer, I know there are 100 different ways to majorly reduce the bot problem. As long as its gone on you could have tried a lot of things but haven't. Why?
I'm not going to pay for (or even use) the game until the bot problem is fixed. I won't even recommend it to anyone else.

@Armitage you maybe a programmer but you seem to not be accustomed to reading or understanding the english language... hopefully programming for you doesn't involve words or understanding of them :P Here's a sentence from mod michelle from this very thread...
"Here is a list of some of the accounts we have banned (in no particular order):"
"some" being the key word so there is more you just only see "some" names hope that clears up your misunderstanding ;)

Good job, Jagex. I am so glad that Jagex has taken action against those bug abusers. However, I feel that even if they are not banned, it will not affect the game vastly. It is the gold farmers that should be placed first on the list to get banned. The gold farmers are affecting the economy adversely. In general, prices of things have dropped badly and it is hard to make money now. I hope that Jagex will take the initiative to implement the so-called promised bot nuke otherwise many players will have to vie with the gold farmers to make money.

I think you handled it really well. as for the RARES just chuck them on the grand exchange for 1gp.
I love the way it is ZERO tolerence and let this be a warning to all the botters. bug abusers and gold farmers out there. To be honest these people on the list are probly a lot of the leaders for these things anyways.
Yeah so GOOD JOB and dont listen to these kids who are complaining you are doing your best :D .
I'm going to celebrate with my new name now :D
Thanks JAGEX

"As well as the above, there are several other accounts that have accessed the bug but have not abused it. We will be rolling these accounts back to Friday 3rd August"
Why were the same actions not taken for the 6/6/06 falador massacre?
