Good work jagex, was just talking to clan mate yesterday that swore that mule accounts couldn't be banned....which you just proved wrong :)
Now let's get back to work on that much needed bot nuke and beta eh?

This is REALLY funny. You ban fewer than 50 bug abusers because they got over on you, and you release a news bulletin about it. But you let 100K bots and gold farmers **** up the game for real players, ruin the economy, and over-run all resources.
IMO, this is a JOKE of huge proportion. And not a very funny one.
Hasn't that bot maker you hired programmed a permanent bot nuke YET? Seems you made a mistake there, too.

Thought I saw Jake's name on here I was about to freak out! Nonetheless, instead of banning players with 1b+ Exp and 200m stats; it would'nt of hurt to simply put an offense on their account whilst maybe issuing perhaps a temp ban and rollback of cash.. Said players have shown unwaivering dedication to your product for years and banning them for this mistake is a bit harsh. Talking about DeadEternity.
It wouldn't have hurted to give such veterans of RuneScape another chance.
I'm glad cheaters are gone of course though I'm a little disturbed you'd ban such an impressive account for one mistake... Rollback/temp ban would've been just as effective.

Thank you very much to you all at Jagex, as well as anyone who aided them in their investigations :) . The preservation of RuneScape's integrity is vital for its survival, and the enjoyment of almost all, if not all, players, so I'm very glad to see it upheld!
It certainly has been quite a bit of time since these sort of news-posts have been made where Jagex's strong, and quite honestly games genre-wide praised, stance against cheaters of any sort is expressed. I personally have always known that Jagex stands on the genuine player's side, of course, but being a lot more open about it and proud from Jagex's side goes a prodigious way.
As for another, more prominent plague in RuneScape at the moment, bots, I have faith Jagex will take care of it, and hopefully with the same level of communication as they have demonstrated in the past and with this bug abuse situation in particular. Long live RuneScape's integrity! Just your friendly neighborhood team player.
