I understand Jagex is a business and therefore must make profit but there seems to be a smell of desperation around raising cash. This update is only, solely, completely about raising cash.
When I started playing this game the thing that sold me was how difficult the achievements were; when you wore a cape you deserved it. Now I don't believe the capes I see due to the victory of botting over the game and now with all these updates it appears xp is for sale. They have nerfed the effigy and double xp weekends; why give free xp when it can be sold.
I presume Jagex is making money out of these updates and therefore we will see more of them but the real price is the loss of achievement which was the heart of the game.

It's ok folks.
Not really, But hey what can 600 people on forums influence that 5000 (a very conservative guess) buying spins and never come to the forums can't?
We will get whatever they decide to put into the game and like it or lump it.
Look at it this way this whole experience for the past few years is like an experiment in public persuasion (I'm uncertain of the actual wording but the idea is the same) pop out a new update that distracts from the older update that everyone was raging against and the old update is still there, continue, rinse and repeat.
It is a true shame that the game so many of us have invested years playing is changing into something unrecognizable.
Started with having fricking PENGUINS in game to this horror of Yelps and its hallucinatory wheel of fortune..I do spin but I will not buy spins...if I can help it.
But I do forsee a time you will be forced to purchase something or other to complete a quest or to have a necessary item.
On that day I will join the ranks of the old guard that have given up, not that it will matter as the new blood is coming into the game.
The new blood that love their cheat codes and God modes to finish a game they paid $60 for in less than a day..just to say they were first..I don't get it.
A frustrated 9 year player.

PS: To add a bit.
< that "forum date" or whatever it is does not in any way indicate how long a person might have been a MEMBER, Some folks like me take months at a time off from the game..or they don't pay the due for a week or so.
Hell look at my scores, there are players that have that in two years or less it took me nine I am obviously in no rush.

@ Beast and Ryan, I agree with you both. :) It was, and to a lesser degree (IMO) still is.
We just need to educate upper management as to how to keep we players staying long term. They need to make their money, but we need to want to play.
Make ALL SOF and Solomon stuff cosmetic. It will not effect high scores, and can be fun. But remove all buyable unfair advantages to keep the 'race' in the game. Fair playing field for those of us who are competing, and fun playing area for those of us who want to focus on fun. Just draw a line down the middle of Fun and Fair and do not try to cross over.
SAY NO TO BUYABLE ADVANTAGES!

That's fine buy all the spins you want son, YOU know you had to take the easy way that's all that matters at the end of the day.
DW about character building (Doing for yourself by your own wits) here or in the rw become like the so many others and let others do it for you..You are in great company there is no shame on _you_ as much as it is who raised a lazy child.
