I don't quite recognize why everyone is so incensed over this, its something so simple and so not a big deal at all. First of all, for everyone who is stating that Jagex is ruining itself by trying to program items in order to receive an income, has anyone even tried to consider that it could possibly be a way to either have non-members try out the membership to see if they like it or not? As for me, and I think probably 99% of members, we are members not because of these random items/xp we are given once in a blue moon, but rather because we enjoy the game, and if Jagex wants to spread that influence through harmless propaganda like this who are we to blame them? I'm a veteran of runescape and have been a member not for these fancy items that in reality will probably do nothing but produce a small amount of excitement in the game for something like 10 seconds, but because I've always liked the the game and the wide variety of things to do. As for the arguments based on prestige and economy: I am a high level player pretty much capable of killing nomad 3+ times in a row if I wanted to, if another player has difficulty doing that why not be able to instakill him? WHO CARES?! That player has now used 1 of his darts doing something difficult for him, now you who were capable of defeating him without the help of the dart are capable of using it for another purpose. On the same note, for people who have trouble prayer switching and fighting in high-pressure situations such as I am, these darts can be helpful to finish the kiln or whatever else I choose to do, and I feel as though I DO deserve it seeing as how I am maxed in all skills and am just not very strong in high-pressure situations, why should I be penalized for that? I worked hard to get nearly 99 in all combat stats. The economic complaints are some of the only valid ones in my opinion, and even then, just like others have said, what are the chances of even getting a good drop?! not 1/4. Stop complaining.

i agree with your first statement completely though praisewothi, i do hate how they are now quantifying values with money from real life, you can have done well enough captivating enough people without needing to specify the exact value of all of it. it personally just turns me off.

Ipullwitswag: Hats off to you !! I couldn't have said it better myself. Let people have fun with these cool lil gifts. It's sad that everytime Jagex comes up with something different to do, {which for the record is why I keep coming back as a member } so many people complain non stop and forget to thank them for their efforts. And as far as members buying things with real world cash. Inflation is hitting everyone and they have to make up for it or all the cool things they do will have to stop. Rs membership is approx 8.00 a month. I can think of three online games off the top of my head that cost 25 or more dollars a month to play. You can't beat the price of this game nor the effort they make to please people. Thank you Jagex for all your time invested in trying to make this an awesome experience for us. OH AND TO JUST PUT IT OUT THERE, UM JAGEX I'M STILL WAITING FOR A BONUS CHAINSAW HE HE HE.
Playing the game should be fun, no drama needed :P
