However old these people may be, the ones who rant and rage and think they have some sort of influence by stating they don't want the update to happen, I believe that there is a certain link between how long they've played RuneScape and the age they act while playing the game and/or otherwise posting on the forums.
--Come now, don't deny it. The only reason you dislike these updates is because they are constant, and you firmly believe that jagex is trying to make their game more like others, such as world of warcraft or otherwise. In fact, the biggest competition this game really has is world of warcraft. All the other online multi-player games with this depth that jagex has achieved are all either things like dragon-fable and adventure quest or belong to the valve and steam groups.
All the while, RuneScape players are at the least willing to try world of warcraft and give up, rather than just hear from someone who didn't quite fit the style of our game or the people in our community and go ape on how horrible the other game is without giving it a try.
90% of the non-botting community in RuneScape, and I can nearly speak for all of us, would at least try the new update and take some time to get used to it, rather than complain about it on the forums all day like some of you other pesky people do. However with the mass annoyance caused by the people on the forums who dislike the update, there is one thing to remember, that is commonly forgotten, there are about two thousand forum trolls who have nothing better to do than complain about the things jagex and or their stockholders do. There are also 150-200 thousand players in game, giving a big thumbs up for these things. You will change nothing by ranting.
As someone with 7 years of experience in RuneScape, I'm actually quite glad, as is most of the population, that Jagex and Co actually gives us something new to play with all the time, unlike others who sell a product that is incomplete and sell new content.
