Wow, let's just look at my list of complains.
1. The cheapest item costs five dollars. That's the cheapest item and it's not like you can hold it your hand. That is ridiculously expensive, no matter how cool the item is.
2. Easy access gambling for KIDS! Moral objections or lack there of aside, that is ILLEGAL in most of the countries where computers can be afforded. Jagex is now breaking the law. Just because your a virtual world, doesn't mean the law doesn't apply to you. Also, isn't it just a little hypocritical in light of your supposed stance AGAINST gambling? (In reference to the PokeSlots, they didn't use actual real world money now did they.)
3. It is in the rules and philosophy of this game that as long as you buy a membership, you can get access to ALL GAME CONTENT! Exceptions for past event items were acceptable. A CASH SHOP (let's call it what it is) IS NOT! I don't care if it's a cosmetic item or not. If I'm a member, I want it included in my membership.
4. But what about Xuan's? Xuan's is a loyalty reward that I can get with out added irl costs and is available through membership. It's not some $5 and *10 extra.
5. The items look pretty but as some one else pointed out, why are they not being added to the Mini-Games or to quests? Oh, that's right, Jagex has the insatiable, morally bankrupt and bloodthirsty "investors" to feed. Apparently they matter more than the people who actually play the game and foot the bills.
Squeal of Fortune's rwt update met with epic backlash, what makes you think that we'll just lie down and take Solomon's obvious money grab? The equality and spirit of the game have been called into question and clearly, Jagex has lost that to Corporate Interests.
I joined Runescape because it was the only online game that hadn't pulled this sh*t, now I'm wondering if I should just switch to World of Warcraft or Farmville and enjoy a little honesty, it's not like their integrity is any worse. The game is Runescape not Ruinscape.
