To those pointing out that "JAGEX is a company, and it needs make bigger ptoffits":
I point out to them, that JAGEX, by it's very name, and by all it claimed to stand for (admitedly before they sold themselves, which, given the new ethic they have, should require them to change their name), should not be seeking excessive proffits, it's already proffitable enough, it's able to support it's workforce perfectly well. It shouldn't need to "encrease its proffits", if it's making a proffit after paying its workers (and shareholders, now), that should be ploughed back into the "game experience" that JAGEX suggests.
People were suggesting to make the SoF cosmetic only in their feedback, as the only reasonable way to do things, if JAGEX was going to keep it. Instead of this, JAGEX sees this good idea, and decides to have its cake AND eat it, as the phrase goes.
If JAGEX wishes to continue with these things, and make RuneScape into a runofthemill, ordinairy, proffit seeking MMORPG, and completely leave the niché that it was made to fill, then they could at least make a new version of the game, as they did with "classic", and let the game as it stands continue for a Year, with minimal/no updates if need be, and make an entirely sepperate new game with all these microtransactions incorperated in it. That would allow them to go the whole hog with them, and make a good proffit.
The new "classic 2" as the current/beggining of 2012 game would be, could then be tested, to see if it would pay for itself, and then all the people complaining would have the ability to fulfill their consumerist right to vote with their feet, without all the subtle, carefully researched, socialogical/psycological blackmail and trickery that have been used to carefully gather evidence that shows majority support for the recent updates.
Unfortunately, a large ammount of the people who cared about this have been forced to leave by these updates, weakening their voice vs low attentionspan demographics.
