try asking for RS names instead of RL names in the servey, would make more people comfortable & there for more potential testers.

Lol, are you serious right now? You're afraid of jagex knowing your name? Okay then...

Either way, the less people that sign up, the better chance for those of us that aren't afraid of every little thing, no offense :)

The thing is though, this website isn't one of Jagex's.

Now my question,

Will it matter if the email we use for the survey, our RS account, and that we use for Steam are different? Many people (including myself) have multiple emails and sometimes have them used for different things. The survey and my account use the same email but steam uses a different one, so would I need to change the associated email to any or all three things into the same email, or is it fine for a player to have these separate emails for both RS and Idle?

I hope that the current character art is just a placeholder and that by final release we won't look like my very first attempt at drawing anime characters.

What was the point of the amazing looking Sally art if the avatar itself looks like a child's doodle?

When this game goes live, will there still be requirements of a Steam account and personal information including our first and last names? The description on the Jagex news page implied this game can be run anywhere, hence registration for Steam is not needed but somehow an association with Steam is required for just a chance to get a closed beta invitation... Also, the requirements of first and last names make this game sound more like one which is going to be run on a social media.

Anyway, for those who have concerns on Jagex's time used on developing this game, if I read it correctly, this game is not developed or owned by Jagex. Jagex just gave its owner the permission to use the Runescape trademark. So, it is safe not to use any Jagex/Runescape information in the survey.

The thing is though, this website isn't one of Jagex's.

It's authorized by Jagex for their purposes. Survey Monkey is just a conduit, essentially. Jagex created the survey and hosted it via Survey Monkey -- many companies like Jagex use third-party websites and companies that are equipped with tools and software that they either don't have, don't want to develop, or are better designed than what they do have developed.

Jagex wouldn't do this if there was a severe security risk, and for those concerned about Jagex and affiliates collecting personal information, they need that information to be in contact with you as a tester -- not a gamer. It's a professional enterprise, and while it may not be paid, it is still a business matter, and businesses deal with real people, not online personas.

However, this survey and sign-up is entirely voluntary, and no one is individually guaranteed an invitation, and if a player feels insecure in their person in signing-up, they don't have to sign-up, but if they really want to, then they need to understand that it comes with terms and conditions, which if they want to be a part of the test-period, they are required to accept.
Here, I'll give you this strawberry if you keep it a secret!

The game is going to be distributed via Steam, and as an "idle" game, I believe that indicates that it can be played anywhere via a Smart-phone or device, and with Steam as the distributor, it should be available on PC as well.

The personal information request is for the purpose of contact during the testing-period, but whether players will be required to provide personal information after the game is released is unknown, but it wouldn't be really relevant to beta-testers as their information will already be on file. As for personal information with Steam, registering a free-account only requires a valid e-mail, but I believe purchases via Steam will require personal information since those would be business transactions, but that is entirely unrelated to this project and is just a service aspect of Steam.

Additionally, the game is actually owned by Jagex Ltd., and they have their own development team working in collaboration with Hyper Hippo as the co-developer, but the IP, copyright, licensing, trademarks, etc. is owned by Jagex Ltd..

If this game is actually owned by Jagex, the deal must have been really recent since Jagex has made no official announcement about it. Even under their own news section on this site, unlike what they did with Aces of Spades and Funorb, they implied their relationship with Hyper Hippo as "partners" in these new posts. Also, I see no Jagex logos and Runescape trademarks on Hyper Hippo's website.

I don't know how much interest Jagex has on Hyper Hippo. Maybe 0.00001%?
