What the players are really concerned is how it will affect the current sate of the game regarding the people working on the game

Well you can start with the new top management streamlining Jagex. Which means the lazy sloths at the top that don't work or can't justify their paychecks will get fired. No more corporate sacred cows lol.

Original message details are unavailable.
the direction of the game and the influence of MTX in the game.

The Asian market is considerably different compared to the western market. Jagex would need to change a number of things. They would have to move more towards MTX, which is a more popular practice in Asia. They would have to stress on more diversification. More eastern culture references, there may also be some staff changes so that the main investor has control over the company and have things executed as they want. They would require some changes to get Runescape approved by the Chinese Ministry of Culture. Or they could just decide that RS isn't profitable enough and they can do better by scrapping everything, make a new MOBA game out of RS content and start running Chinese e-sports style leagues. Its a big thing in online gaming and has big returns. Someone as clueless as a mining company would want maximum returns from their investments obviously. Many things have been discussed in the past pages of this topic. Most of the questions are just a repeat of the same.

I've had my fill on this subject lol. I'll wait for official statements.

Hey guys,

Thanks very much for your interest and questions :)

We've collected them all up and are going to be publishing some answers for you all soon - we're doing this as some people seem to be worried about how this will effect RuneScape and our other games. Just to put those concerns to rest, we'll be sharing what we know so far.

Do keep in mind that these are early stage talks, and the deal may or may not be completed. It's exciting (and flattering) to have received this offer which brings with it a number of opportunities.

Cheers!

What does this mean for OSRS?
Will this lead to more resources being at the disposal of Jagex?
Is there any information with respect to the strategy which will put in place to capture some of the Asia market?
Can we hope to see an increase of devs thanks to this development?

I hope to hear more information soon, too much needless speculation at the moment by the community. I hope I can bring more information to my OSRS FB community soon =)
Thank you for keeping us up to date!

Change is one of the most difficult things that we face, but change is inevitable. One reason we don’t like change is we get comfortable where we are. We get used to our friends, our job, the place we live, and even if it’s not perfect we accept it because it’s familiar. What happens is because we’re not willing to change, we get stuck in what God used to do instead of moving forward into what God is about to do. Just because God’s blessed you where you are doesn’t mean you can just sit back and settle there. You have to stay open to what God is doing now. What worked five years ago may not work today. If you’re going to be successful you have to be willing to change. Every blessing is not supposed to be permanent. Every provision is not supposed to last forever. We should constantly evaluate our friendships. Who’s speaking into your life? Who are you depending on? Make sure they're not dragging you down, limiting you from blossoming. Everybody is not supposed to be in our life forever. If you don't get rid of the wrong friends you will never meet the right friends

The fact that you find this "flattering' says a lot in how disturbing and toxic this entire thing is. I may no longer be active in this game, but it's this flawed reasoning that keeps me away. It's even telling how much worse the community management team in the process (hey - another reason why I resigned from FMod!). You know what was great about Mod Daezhun, Sabre, and the rest? They didn't spew BS from their keyboards.

But if you think that receiving offers from a mining company, which is having financial troubles and even attempted to file bankrupty, and has political issues with China itself is "flattering", then boy are you folks out of your depth...

As usual, you will post a FAQ with some pretty words, promising how nothing will change on OSRS, how you will have full control of RuneScape's development team, and how no one should worry -- and you're probably right -- I don't see why a mining company would need to meddle in the affairs of day-to-day RuneScape development. That's almost as preposterous as IVP flying over to Cambridge to suggest dragon pets as a way to earn more profit.

Make no mistake though, this is one of the worst decisions Jagex will be making. You are backing yourselfs with a financially unstable, politically shady company. But the fact is - you're owned by a mining company. That in itself is a joke. At least IVP was a real venture capitalist firm.

Have a great day Mod Balance.
