I Highly doubt that all players would want to pay 75$... they will just quit really.

A number of people would pay even more, but it's not the case here. It would need too much paperwork also. Unless someone with legal experience would lead it. But let's not get ahead of ourselves, let's see what will happen.

So you say RS's investors are the ones taking notice and planning to sell to this company? No, it's the other way around. Jagex;s investors were approached by the Shandong Hongda Mining Co whom made an offer for the company. The investors weren't out shopping for buyers.


Just to put some more perspective on the matter, The Chairman of the Board for the Shandong Hongda Mining Co, Lianwen Duan, is also the Executive Director for an investment company, so he does have experience with investments, so this isn't simply a matter of some random mining company wishing to purchase Jagex.

lets say there's 2 million players, each pays 75* that's 150m$ , so the players buy half of jagex and decide the updates from now on instead of selling the company.

seems like a nice deal :p

If it only was that simple... :)

Although everyone is fizzing with curiosity/excitement/apprehension there's not much point in asking what's going to happen about specific aspects of the game. Jagex don't know, it's too early on.

In any case, there's nothing we can do about. Nothing Jagex staff can do about it either, they won't be calling the shots, the investors will.

But I don't think I'll be paying for a year's membership up-front when it's due for renewal.

Lol. It's not just paperwork & the legalities. There are a thousand and one reasons as to why this isn't possible. Sip Yep, RuneScape was a good game.
