Please don't let this be an investor that see's opportunities everywhere and when its turn out bad they do not care at all..

I'm about to be a financial controller (auditor) myself and I'm really curious who in Jagex is concerned with this decision.

I'm worried..

I guess Jagex hasn't been doing to well itself, which is not surprising from the closing of darkscape, transformers universe fail(and abandoning Stellar Dawn).
Don't forget abandoning FunOrb and closing 8Realms.

Honestly I would not sell to them in any aspect, to branch out into the market in there country. The main reason being the fact that if you look at other games like guild wars 2 who did this, they saw the number of gold sellers in there game double, and had to put a system in place to take care of them. Also Personally as a player its kinda hard to trust any company from over there that buys out a game company, because a good chunk of the time they have ruined many.

I am from Hong Kong and I can tell you, the Chinese do not create, they only either destroy or copy games.

I am from Hong Kong too, and that only becomes true to a certain extent.

This is fascinating. I cannot wait until we get to hear more and about specifics.

What I'm curious about is while this will gain access to Asian markets, China particularly is notoriously known for their censoring. How does Jagex feel about this, will this just be a financial acquisition?

So many questions, hopefully answered in due time.

It'll be interesting to see if they try to relocate HQ, forcing most of Jagex's staff to quit.

This is the most worrying part of this deal IMO.

They could replace the entirety of Jagex's staff with cheaper Chinese developers.

Before people freak out that the Chinese are buying Jagex, you should know that Riot (league of legends) is totally owned by a Chinese company too. And they are doing great.

A Chinese mining company on the brink of bankruptcy. Yup nothing to worry about! Sip Yep, RuneScape was a good game.

Gaming company attempting to branch out by making more games.
Some will hit, some will miss, some will just be "profitable".

It's true of a lot of companies.

Bad news is you can only "miss" so many times.

oh well "do not care" is a trademark of the Mainland Chinese. It is their phenotype, possibly a race-specific gene found only in them. Please this is no racism. I am a Chinese from Hong Kong. What they care is $$$$ only. They have a price for human lives.
