I have to be honest, the requirements for the beta leave a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. I get having gold premier as a way to bypass the requirements, but the specific "continuous membership since 2012" way seems a little exclusive to people who have had the resources to maintain membership for that long. I've had membership on and off since probably around 2004, with a lot of the 'off' time being for financial reasons. Nonetheless, I believe it's likely that I've had enough membership over the course of my Runescape career that someone could be eligible for this beta, and have spent less time as a member than I have. Surely a better system would be to base it on the total time an account has spent as a member, rather than set a date that someone has to have been a member since.

I have to agree 100%. Jagex...

I've been a member for probably a decade, with any gaps in membership lasting no more than a month each time (I manually purchased memberships in the past, instead of automatically renewing.) It's disappointing that your criteria for BETA access is 'continued membership', rather than 'all-time membership', which is a much better criteria in all ways. As it stands, people with 6 years less of total membership time than me are allowed in the BETA, while I am not.

I guess continued membership is an easier variable to keep track of (it's displayed right here, after all), but it's quite worrying if you can't even keep track of total membership time... I'm sure it's a useful number to use in statistical analysis, no? Or maybe you don't even do statistical analysis, but I doubt you can be THAT inefficient. In the chance you do keep track of total membership time, it's even MORE worrying if you were that short-sighted to not use it as criteria.

Yes, I'm salty. But the criteria you have used just stinks of high incompetence and highlights the lack of critical thought you possess.

Peace.

Hey,

The decision to select the requirements as we did was to get the numbers that we required, while attempting to get as many of our loyal members involved. Ultimately a closed beta is closed for a reason and though we'd love to invite everyone, it's inadvisable at the moment.

I tried it but it didn't work perhaps I didn't install it correctly it maybe I was supposed to change folders I didn't know. When it did it was like heaven if I need to i will uninstall my normal launcher and use the beta one and see how that goes.

I can't wait.

Reported a load of bugs during the first beta and still no title :| . Also I would've thought Jagex would have at least had the decency to open up the beta access to a wider range of players this time around.

Same here... No title at all.

It really takes more than just the amount of issues reported. You need to provide clear feedback on the beta both in reports and on the forums. Being the first to report a new issue with clear reproduction steps helps for major issues, not just every minor issue you come across.

It should be awarded the same way as it was with the 2015 Combat Beta where the team that is associated with NXT will select a player each based off of bug reports, feedback and quality of reports. Out of those brought forth, only a handful will be granted the title.

Just to remind people, it was over a month after the 2015 Combat Beta was released before titles were awarded. Honestly I don't see them giving more than the amount that was done in 2015, just 27 to 32 people total gained it.

Also I can't wait for this upcoming event to test NXT again. So much fun to be had soon.

I work in the QA field for 5+ years now, mate. So I'm sure I provided enough details to reproduce the issue.

So, this time around players who already have the gamebreaker title aren't egible? ;) It seems you forgot to mention that in the news post.

I don't think i have gamebreaker in my title list. how do i unlock it exactly? because i did log into NXT. if i did unlock it and with my lame vision missed it. where in the titles do i look for it?

Many players reported not being able to get the beta started, can't find file was one a a black screen on loading then freezing.

Is there any preparation that would should do i.e. delete offending files so as to get clean install or is the improved beta going to do this for us?

My game runs well on Max java graphics, does this mean I will be able to run Ultra NXT no problem?

No that is not a safe assumption, given that max in java sits between low and mid in NXT
