It will be sad to see December come around, but honestly, you have done a fantastic job presiding over RuneScape this last half a decade or so along with the rest of Jagex.

I wish you all the best with whatever you decide to do following your departure and, in general, keep rocking :) . Just your friendly neighborhood team player.

A letter to the RuneScape community from Mod MMG

Hey Everyone,
One of my proudest achievements at Jagex has been our efforts of tackling Botting and Gold Farming. plagued the game and community for many years. Today the game is virtually bot free and with the introduction of Bonds, gold farming too has become almost inexistent. A year on since Bonds was introduced, and I am again so pleased so see so many players reap the benefits of many years' hard effort and loyalty.

Back in 2009, I pledged that we would start talking to our community more, and keep you all in the loop dark after a decade of perceived secrecy years of ignorance. Fast forward to 2014 and I think we have done just that! The return of PvP in the Wilderness poorer graphics & Free Trade, pay to play, the launch removal of Old School RuneScape and most recently, Legacy Mode the players and mostly the F2P players, have all been driven by YOU ?

Add to that the launch of Player Power at the start of this year, I have been thrilled to watch both the team and the community readily embrace this new way of working together. I still think we can do even more and *low signal distortion* Mod Pips and the rest of the RuneScape team

*It would be wrong of me to say I have always got everything right, because frankly I haven't, but I can promise you everything we've ever done was always done with the RuneScape's best interests in mind. I do genuinely believe RuneScape now has the strongest, passionate and most committed team ever, and RuneScape's future is in
very safe hands
indeed.*remember the last time we heard that phrase

RuneScape future. passion, dedication, support and feedback (good and bad) I've been very blessed over the years!

Lastly, I wanted the opportunity and honour to say "Thank you for playing RuneScape" one last time and I will continue to pop into game (on my choob account)

Indeed. People tend to forget even the worst kind of things in life with lightning speed. All this praising for mmg is like announcing that Stalin and Adolf H were remarkable leaders that caused heavenly good things and people would wish them well for what they did and will do in the future. Just disgusting. I am very disappointed for what I am seeing here but let's just remember that those we are not hearing here today are deep buried withing Gielinor's soil to sleep forever as they were slaughtered by those brutal changes back in time.

Youi've lost this game 1000's of players with your broken
promises and lies.
Microtransactions has made it easier for the better off
something you PROMISED wouldn't happen.
December can't come quick enough.
Lets hope Paul Gower and Ian Gower are coming back. .And now the end is near its time to raise the final curtain.

I don't think you understand. A majority of the players praising him in this thread are either forum mods(aka fun police) or players that didn't play when he became CEO. Players that didn't see the updates that made a majority of the players leave. They didn't forget what he did, they just don't know because they weren't here when it happened. There are a few players who praise him that were here when he made the large changes but they are mostly casual players that play for 1 hour on the weekends.

Anyone who has played this game for 5+ years would know how many friends left because of the stupid and rushed updates. I'm not talking about EoC. It was rushed and broke a lot of things on release, but overall I think the EoC, as it is at the moment, is a very good thing. It brings more complexity to the game other than just clicking and hoping for good RNG.

The ability system helps distinguish bad players from good players and rewards the ones who take the time to master it. That being said, it isn't that complicated of a system. I have raided in a top 20 WoW guild and I can safely say that RS isn't a hard game at all. EoC should've been introduced gradually. They would've kept more players.
