I always see many myths that "girls don't play RuneScape".
This statement is not true. My sister played RuneScape for at least 2 years. There are also many myths that players with female characters are "all men" in real life and their avatar is not representing their real life gender.
I would like to stomp out this myth. I have met many female players on RuneScape. And I mean many, having spoken with them both in game and making friends with them outside of RuneScape. I would really like people to know that girls definitely do play RuneScape, my real life girlfriend for one, plus my sister.
Its a big shame people have such misunderstandings about our community. It is true, that many of the RuneScape player base is male, as Mod Mark stated. However for those of you who still think that females do not exist within RuneScape then I am sorry to say you are very much mistaken. Girls play videogames, many of them play RuneScape. So in closing I would like to say, hats off to you, female players of RuneScape. While they may hide themselves away (many RuneScape female players use male avatars to avoid attracting attention) they are out there
Interesting figures, I was always curious to see how much of RuneScapes player base is composed of male and female players. Of course a majority male base, but nonetheless the female RS community exists.
