Thanks for the statistics.

What I really want to know after reading this is who are the new players and where are they coming to the game from? Looking at the average age of RS players today versus what it was back in the early days (mostly teenagers, iirc), it seems like most of the people playing today were the same generation of people that were playing back then.

Is this game sustainable in the long term as that generation of players moves on to their 30's and beyond? I hope so, but I also hope enough is being done to bring in new blood.

That said, I can see how trying to attract today's teenagers to RS would be challenging. Especially since we can't play the game on most smartphones, etc. yet.

For "Players online" do you perhaps have statistics for unique accounts active in the past month versus unique accounts active in past months? That'd give a nice portrayal of the playerbase size. Additionally "active" could apply to accounts with a logged session of over 30-60mins to eliminate "checking in" accounts. Subtracting the bots banned from evidence occurring that month could also sure-up the numbers.

RS has a horrible economy / xp system at the moment not saying it should be easier but at the moment it's kind of YOU WANT POWER .......BUY THIS FOR 1B.

I don't want to have to buy things or kill monsters to get the best gear, I want to be able to make the best gear using my non combat skills, and then sell the things I made using my non combat skills to earn billions of GP.

No thanks to that, it would devalue PvM like mad.

It was PvM monster drops that devalued Mining and Smithing and other skills like Crafting and Fletching, not the other way around.

Mining and Smithing and Crafting and Fletching are supposed to make weapons and armour which are the best in the game.

Monsters should never drop anything better than what can be made through the non combat skills which are meant for making these items.

If Mining, Smithing, Crafting, and Fletching were updated to make the best gear they would just be taking back their rightful place as skills meant for making armour and weapons.

PvM should not be producing better weapons and armour than the skills meant for making weapons and armour.

PvM should not be devaluing the non combat skills meant for making armour and weapons. The skills meant for making armour and weapons should be producing the best armour and weapons in the game.

I think the non combat skills deserve to produce better and more valuable items as good as if not better than anything that comes from monster drops.

There should never have been an imbalance where PvM was better than non combat skills for earning GP or producing the best items in the game.

A recent poll showed most players consider themselves skillers. This suggests most players want the non combat skills to be useful and profitable, and that Jagex should be updating the non combat skills more.

While I understand the concern about non combat skills devaluing PvM, I also think PvM drops should not be allowed to devalue the non combat skills.

I know that this is a day old, so saying this might not matter, but you do realize that, since Runescape has about 220,000,000 registered accounts, then 1% of that would be 2,200,000? That is still a HUGE number of players.

And furthermore, what drops are you talking about? I've seen NO fansite that tells you to go and kill some random guys for all the profit in the world because they drop items that are more expensive than the partyhat.

I've seen a bunch of guides on which monsters to kill for profit, but these are for things like Dragon Crossbow limbs (14 mil), Dragon Claws (Roughly 2 mil), Dragon Armor Pieces (About 3.4 mil for all three), Dragon Picks (16.5 mil), Dragon Hatchets (4 mil), Steadfast Boots (15 mil), Full Torva (200 mil), Static Gloves (15 mil), Ascension Keystones (Roughly 3 mil for all 6), and Drygore Weapons (370 mil for all 3 sets).

So yeah, why don't you point out what drops you're talking about? I'd really love to get into that kind of money.

PS: If someone's already posted this kind of thing, I'm sorry for repeating information, but I don't get much time to play the game, and I'm not going to waste it running through all the forums posts trying to correct someone. I'm just going to try to correct someone.
Yes it's still a large amount of number, but he's trying to play it to his advantage by using percentages which is obviously going t be small.

seismic wand is 1.2bill GE, dry gore was also worth **** loads ages ago bit it appears it has crashed.
