Just another scheme thought up by the greedy people running jagex
First sof
then sol
then bonds
then the well which god knows how much they make off that since people donate bonds which have to be bought
now vip worlds and a bunch of gimmicks to sucker some more fools into the horrible game that was ruined by eoc
So what I'm saying is the more you guys keep feeding the pig for it's greedy ideas or the more hungry the pig gets because the smart people aren't feeding it either way the pig wants to eat more and more because the pig is a fat greedy idiot who only cares about himself being the pig he is.
I wouldn't add the well off goodwill to that list.
It's a scheme Jagex have to remove a good chunk of injected money into the game. Jagex is a UK based company and yet they are donating in dollas this is because the exchange rate is high and it looks like they are donating more than they actually are.
Of course the game isn't going to die in 2014 but it will be scraping the barrel. People are moving to better PC games, next gen consoles out with extremely awaited games but it won't be long until Jagex have to lay off more staff to keep their profit margin up. Yep, the game has already had to do that.
But the game won't be shut down completely, that's what I meant by 'dead.'
Even if people move on to other games, they'll still come back.
Why would they come back?
Runescape 3 is not really Runescape, its completely changed and a far cry from what it once was.
Since the beginning of 2012 up until now and most likely beyond, the game has descended into mediocrity and become nothing more than a "generic" fantasy MMORPG.
Just look at the direction the artwork has taken, a bombastic over the top style reminiscent to that of games like WoW and Everquest.
Or look at the combat system, which now is pretty much a copy and paste of 90% of the MMO combat systems out there.
No, the sad truth is that the direction Jagex has taken with Runescape simply does not appeal to the vast majority of its fanbase, most of which have already left.

Having looked at a few comments made we feel that the price is both fair and offers value to those who decide to become a VIP. VIP worlds with exclusive JMod interaction, a tonne of loyalty points, an awesome in game icon & forum badge among a load of other juicy benefits, including 12 whole months of membership make all of the premier packages, not least the gold package a real valuable, cost effective package.
The problem with that is that many, many people already have hundreds of thousands of Loyalty Points with very little (if any) items to spend them on. If those people have no real use for the large amount of Loyalty Points that they already have, then what use could another 20,000-150,000 be?
VIP worlds (J-Mod interaction or not) aren't seen as a major benefit to most people given the fact that most of the game's worlds are pretty much empty.
The various cosmetic items (promotional outfits, pets, etc.) aren't seen as a major benefit since most people toy around with them for less than a week before they end up removing them and never doing much with them at any point in the future after that.
The badge is just going to segregate the community, so it probably goes without saying that many of us see it as more than a negative than a positive.
And then there's the biggest problem of all, which has been pointed out by dozens of players - the total package costs a good bit more than it did last year, despite the fact that the overall benefits are of arguably lesser value.
