I don't see people complain when a store offers something before a holiday or Black Friday or when a new movie is released. God forbid Jagex can offer something before/after they release new content.
It's not a store, it's a street corner casino that has no qualms about letting children gamble. If this was a cosmetic upgrade in Solomon's store, most people wouldn't worry about it, but it's not.

We had bots forever, because players bought gold. It encouraged botting. So if enough people want something, it will remain. Hence the Squeal and hence Solomon's and hence bonds now. Duh duh duh and duh.
And the ones that had had enough quit. Memberships are already down to 487k even with the thousands of F2P redeeming bonds for memberships. (And don't say it was bots - you've already used that argument: "We had bots forever" )

It's Jagex's game, they made it, they can sell what they want to sell. Be grateful they haven't sold items for real money yet like that Torva you own? They could very well and just as easily sell that for so much IRL money. So whine about something else if your bandwagoning mind is capable.
Actually, Jagex are constrained by laws just like any other company. The OFT are currently calling for submission for their investigation into Children's Online Gaming. It includes gems like "A game should not include direct exhortations to children to make a purchase or persuade others to make purchases for them." Does this sound familiar: "Want to level in Mining or Smithing?" The SOF can help with extra lamps, pendants. and "special" new items too.
As for selling items for RL money. They have - just buy bonds and sell them for gold to buy whatever you want. Even that Torva.
Also, please stop whining about people complaining - we have every right to be upset if we feel let down by Jagex.
