@Jales
I can see why you wouldnt be a fan of sof, But this will actually come in handy for players who dont have the req's for the quest yet.

You know what else comes in handy? Training the actual skills instead of buying them with real life money. Crazy idea, right?

Which also takes time which not a lot have now that school has started back up...

It is what it is i guess. I look at it as an aid for normal players, seeing as many players dont buy spins and/or dont have enough time to train the skills like many others.

Hate to be that guy, but these would have been nice quest rewards instead of weapons that are pretty underpowered for players able to handle the combat in quest...

I feel like this new generation is getting corrupted and isnt learning the point of the game. You put time and effort into it to achieve stuff. If you don't have the time or effort, then you DONT ACHIEVE STUFF. That's how the game worked fine for 10 years.

This idea of "oh those poor players with no patience to train or no freetime need to be just as good as the others! Let them buy their xp" is undermining the large, large percent of the veteran playerbase who earned their xp by actually playing the game . It teaches these new kids nothing about putting effort into something.

"Birthright of the Dwarves - the latest Grandmaster quest - was released this week, so now*s the perfect time to celebrate all things dwarven and boost your Mining and Smithing XP with the Squeal of Fortune!"

Nope

Also can anyone expalin how mining and smithing are related to the quest? Apart from the unnecessary requirements and the fact that dwarves are associated with with them 2 skills they didn't actually matter in the quest. Actually has Jagex added them requirements for the excuse of putting a smithing/mining SOF "promotion" on? Wouldn't put it past them and that is very sad.

At the end, you can mine extra ruins for ~200k mining xp and the Imcando Pickaxe is gotten afterwards in a mining minigame. But I get your point. Anything vaguely related needs to be milked for money. "

You gotta remember, this is the company that even milked Cinco de Mayo for a profit...

Well said. I hate that aspect of these updates. Makes things less desirable, to me.

I guess these are the types of updates they were referring to when they said, we'll be replacing the bonus exp weekends.

Your analagy of the situation at hand is spot on. Its the smart 1's that have more knowalge of the game. You'd have to be blind to not see whats happening here.

Speaking for myself , I dont find this game entertaing anymore, The constant game changes that have to be learned , windows everyhere. The crack staff at JaGex are trying to make the game more enjoyable for themselfs than to continue with what made runcescape the most popular game to ever hit the internet.

Its my opinion that there SHOULD be a competive line between players. The constant grind to achieve it held respect and honor for the time it took.

Thats not the case anymore.
