I enjoy getting all the holiday items etc, and still login to do my daily challenges.
It's not really the point though is it? holiday items like this should be obtained for FREE doing whatever holiday events. The fact I have to buy a £7.50 game card for 30 days + some mask is outrageous. I'd have to pay an extra £4.30 for a mask which should be free, and is free for those on new rates.
You are not excluded from getting this as an override. You can wait until it's released on SGS and then use your in-game wealth to buy bonds, if you really like to collect everything

Cosmetic? I don't really care about that, solomon itself isnt bad but when they start selling stuff to spawn items or xp. SoF wasn't even that bad to me until they sold spins.
It's a holiday item. It should be free. People like collecting all the holiday items but due to jagex's new money grabbing logic it's no longer possible without coughing up money, it's almost as if EA took over Jagex. That's my problem.
I won't argue with you about SoF - I am against the money-making promotions as much as everyone else.
But there is no "should" about holiday items being free. Yes they used to be, but it doesn't mean that they have to be, or should be. At the end of the day it's Jagex's game, and they owe us nothing. We pay for the game that they provide. They are perfectly entitled to add extra things into it which people have to pay more for. This is the same as the distinction between f2p and p2p. f2p players will always ask for members content, but it won't happen.

I've read that if you have a gold account you get one of these masks. Any truth in that and if so how do you claim it?
Yes, this is correct. If you have a gold premium account, it should already be unlocked under the Head overrides in the Wardrobe interface.
