I have been around for a long time now, seeing the game evolve in many different ways. The fact that they chose to celebrate such a momentous occasion through something which the community is almost all against, is disheartening and saddening.
Sadly, I doubt it will ever leave, as Jagex will continue to do what they do best, avoid the outcry and laugh all the way to the bank. It's honestly pathetic, and I hope they never win another award, cause in my eyes they sure as hell do not deserve it.

My views are impartial. I just like reading the banter. People need to calm down about the game. At the end of the day, jagex is a business and they want your money. This is just a game, and your not obliged to play it. Try tetris, you may feel less betrayed by colourful blocks falling to a catchy beat.

for god sakes ppl have some respect for the updates jagex makes no ones telling u to ****en press that spin button and for those that do thats their choice - be mad at them rather than jagex, if u were in jagex's position u would most likely do the same, without the broken promises of course. besides, u didnt create the game, jagex did. they make the updates, and its not for u to go and tell them to take it away. if jagex decided that its important enough, they will put up a pole. obviously itsnot important enoug, so let it be. Did any of u ever think before finding a way to get it out? if u dont ****en want it so badly than stop buying spins and jagex will hopefully see that no one wants to buy them, and they wll take it away. there is nothing wrong with the wheel itself. other than the buyable ones, spins are earned in the spirit of the game, and its ur choice to claim them. wwhats wrong with a few xp and coins here and there?

i bet ppl who pay for spins will get the 200m not ppl like me who earn or use free spin. Im not gonna even give my hopes up like that. But the sad thing is someones gonna max out their credit card and get 200m+.
I really wish u guys (jagex and their investors) wouldnt sell spins. It pretty much goes against the integrity of the rules for the game. Im all for earned and free spins. I know you all are a business you can work on the gift department section. Make cooler t shirts items and souvenirs beef that up and that will add extra revenue. Damn, open up tours of jagex not in restricted areas make public areas so ppl can meet jmods or see what its like to be a jmod and charge a fee. Do a world tour to different areas such austrailia, United states, Canada, Germany, and even places without high amt of players but high internet usage like Japan with mini runefest. Remember that april fools with the theme park. Wouldnt be such a bad idea to have a medieval like theme park.
There are many ways to honestly make money without compromising the intergrity of the game or suckering ppl out of cash for cheap pixels.
Oh yeah let me add this:
If it was a real celebration you would do something all of rs can take part of there are die hard wheel haters who refuse to spin the wheel so you pretty much left them out and rare chance at 200m...puleeze. Why didnt you just provide some commemoration item for all runescapers?
