i wonder if jagex is secretly endorsing those bots and allowing them to play if they pay them some money so they can make more cash by allowing the bots to break their rules.................(this is purely speculation there is not evidence i have found behind this theory)

Rr98 out :P

Please stop. :(
This isn't the game that I grew up with.
If you all need money that badly then make better content in game. Not some scam-o-fortune. Try updating some of the more popular mini-games in a way that the community would enjoy?

Let me present you with a story.
A is a player in my generation, in the humble beginnings of Runescape; and B is a new player who just signed up today.
Player A was born in Lumbridge. Not the most colourful of towns, but that’s where everybody was born, after finishing their training in tutorial island. Everything around him was ugly pixels there was no bank, no weird underground basement with cave goblins, and the Duke was just as plain as he is * little more than a coloured stick man with a rigid gait, and even more ridiculous fighting style.
The world was ugly and simple, but it promised a great adventure. An adventure in which hard work paid off with just rewards, that mining for 10 hours would make you vastly richer than those who do nothing. A proceeded to kill goblins for their gp drops, and eventually he accumulates 100 gp – an amount sufficient to carry him on the long walk to Varrock, to which there was no shortcut, no alternative; just a long road to be explored, and which would ensure that you mature, to value every piece of gold, to remember each grade of metal armour as a logical progression; bronze, iron, steel, black, mithril, adamant, rune… which symbolised the player’s journey towards inevitable greatness, each piece of chainmail and platemail bore the marks of your struggles and your endeavors, a constant reminder of one encouraging fact: All things came to he who works. It was a fun experience for A.

Player B was born, technically in the same year(169 of the Fifth Age), but in Burthope, a fancy town filled with trainers and advisors, and seemingly a gateway to a really compelling adventure. The trees and buldings look remarkably beautiful, and – oh – what’* this? *This NPC will not talk to you on a free server.” Very well, let’s try that – “This item cannot be bought on a free world. Please switch to a member’s server.” Eventually, B had no choice but to pay up, because the content is otherwisely so repulsively prohibitive and restricted, that ever member’s only character seem to be wearing the face of your most feared bully at school.
When he did change to a member’s server, he found that earning money is surprisingly easy – once he planted something in his farm patch, and ching! – the screen shows a warm message telling him how he just completed a feat of some sort, and a myriad of coins and so called "achievements" fell out of the sky into his pockets. Then another time, he bumped into some character and did a task for him. Another sum of coins fell out of the sky. He was rich before he knew it – sometimes, he wondered why the bronze armour was even there for, when he apparently already has enough coins to buy mithril armour, barely 3 days into his adventure.
And once a day, he noticed that a very helpful (albeit not visually stunning) goblin appeared on the screen, telling him to spin a fortune wheel. The prizes are unnaturally sweet – he almost got 2000 gp upwards in value for every spin, and once he even received a curious fish mask, which he was told was a tradable rare item – a type of object apparently once thought discontinued by jagex, and which had inexplicably resurfaced.

Money came so easily to him – the occasional gold falling from the sky, and that infinitely more helpful goblin who promises rewards for nothing(exactly everyone’s favourite genie in a bottle), and who once even gave him 2000k, a number which he, being barely level 10, could hardly bring to comprehend. The curious lamps he got were equally helpful – apparently he was now a 40 level fletcher without even having came across an arrow. He felt that he was well on his way to a different type of greatness than his predecessors – a better type of greatness, in which nothing given, is rewarded with everything achieved.
For those who share my sincere sadness and disappointment, I urge you to say something here. Especially fellow RuneScape veterans, those who have seen the full extent of RuneScape’s degeneration, the extent to which it was bloated by greed and arrogance; I humbly beseech you, you who have borne witness to RuneScape being sacrificed on the altar of Jagex’s limitless greed, to remind everyone what Runescape once truly was, what it ought to have been, and what it needs to become.
