In after 121 pages of hate...
Jagex, will you ever learn?!?!? We don't want to buy our way to success. Stop selling gold and start being a company worth trusting again.
"We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. If we let players start doing this, it devalues RuneScape for others. We feel your status in real-life shouldn't affect your ability to be successful in RuneScape."

Hi Everyone,
Just thought I'd add my two cents. I don't think there is going to be any issues with the RuneScape currency. The chance of 'winning' insane amounts of money is very limited, and there are more transactions occuring outside the SoF. The consumption spending in RuneScape's economy will not shift AD to the right, unless a substantial portion of the RuneScape population started to purchase SoF spins.
I believe the wheel is catered more to people like myself. People who have a bit of disposable income left over after a long week of work, and want to have a bit of fun. We 'grown ups' spend our money on all sorts of extravangences, but I believe RuneScape provides us now with the opportunity to spend our money in a fun kind of way. I don't see it as gambling as I will put limits on my expenditure.
I also dislike having to spend hours grinding away, when I could instead have a bit of fun with the wheel, and ride my luck that I get money to get the raw materials I need. But obviously I will eventually have to grind away at some point. I believe the wheel provides choices. The more choices you provide to your customer, the better the customer experience. It's an old business saying, for every one positive comment, you'll have eight negative. People complain more than they praise due to the external pressures of society. Psychology.
I'd like to thank RuneScape for this new initiative, and I hope it can still be offered to people like myself who like to have a bit of fun with our money. I'd like to be able to buy in-game items down the track, and I am 100% confident that virtual gifts are the new gifts of the 21st century.
In regards to celebrating 200,000,000 accounts, I do believe there could have been a better way to of done it. A massive community event would be awesome. I used to play RuneScape as a kid, now I am a teacher, and am wanting to teach through RuneScape.
Thank-you RuneScape for being part of my childhood.
Much respect and love,
Bro Sir

2 reasons to wonder how Jagex justifies this:
-
buying your way to success. Wrong! Look at Bro Sirs post. Adult buys squeels.
Its not about the economy stupid!
Its about devaluating the effort of non gambling players.
-
pushing minors to gambling.
After the H/C craze which practically ruined house parties as we knew them now Jagex joins in and pushes kids to buy their way up "the fast lane" .. but in fact pushing them to gamble.
Cause thats what it is.

Remove the SOF!
